It is so pretty I believe I would mat and frame it and use it for a focal point in a room/Lillian

if you have a lot of cushion.
a second idea : an envelope to store the nightgown , very chic slipped under the pillow
a third idea : a protective cover for handbag leather
a fourth idea : a pocket to slide beneath the fine or delicate tights
Je veux vos idées . Je ne ai pas trop de cushins et l'idée de ruban est grand. merci
.
bonjour,
je suggère un coussin bordé de dentelle , mais entre deux mettre un jour pour y glisser un ruban de satin violet .

This is gorgeous! You have several suggestions as to what you can use it for. I can see it as a pillow cover.
Since I need a smile I'll be ornery here and tell you I'll take your beautiful block off your hands and you can make you another. I think I'd use this as a table centerpiece. Lovely colors and pattern.
I don't know what size it is, but it's beautiful. And I think the suggestions given here are great: a pillow, or tablerunner. And it looks lovely for a bookcover too, for a special book for for instance wedding pictures or something like that. Anyway the embroidery is gorgeous and perhaps, you can make a bedcover, with several blocks like these....Hugs, Gerry
Gerry I like most of your suggestions, but a bed cover? Maybe with the larger block that comes with the design. This one is 9"x9". It took 1 1/2 hours to stitch out. It would take forever for a bed cover. Knowing me it would turn into a UFO half way. :) Hugs
That is a problem you sometimes run into when you resize a design. You might try this design again, but reduce the density to see if that helps. Because the quilting lines are so close together, you may not be able to get it to drape the way you want. It is too lovely to just give up on the quilt idea!
It is not actually resized it's one of the ones available when you purchase it.
Rescuer is correct. I actually used the designers 8x8 version (they come in many sizes) and enlarged it to 9x9.
Vielen Dank.
I love these blocks am buying them for a wedding quilt for youngest daughter, can I ask what type of batting did you use? It looks like on the Facebook page she uses the synthetic type used in cottage craft ect. I will have to hoop mine in 4's as I only have a 5x7 at the moment.. you have a few good suggestions below hope you can decide on one.. Marian
When you make it choose the largest design you can handle. I think the reason why mine is stiff is because I wanted to do it with one hooping which makes it too dense. 9x9". 2nd mistake I used cotton batting like "warm and beautiful". It would be a wonderful theme for a wedding quilt,
You can also use white flannel instead of warm and natural batting to make the finished bed cover less heavy.
stunning design well done, many opptions listed below
Wedding ring pillow - Could embroider initials or names and date on the back of the pillow.
Some nice suggestions below, a simply stunning block, am sure you shall find a project to use this foir. Good luck. Sandra.
Thanks Sandra. It is too beautiful of a design not to use it for something.
I stitched out this same block and mine did not turn out stiff at all.
I used only batting and pale pink duchess satin and it turned out perfect.
I used Cotton front and back with thin batting between. I think the issue is my laziness. I did not want to do multiple hoopings so the design is a 9x9. I think assembling the different portions and having a finished 14x14 would be better. What ever I love the designs
It is a gorgeous quilted block. Love the delicate, romantic color scheme. Whatever you decide to do with it will be lovely. But I agree with so many here - arable runner, pillow center, or wall hanging seem to come quickly to mind. It's a shame that it is too stiff for a quilt. It would be stunning to complete a bed sized quilt with this type of block. Please show us you final result.
Thank you for your comment. I will post once I have used it. It may be a while though
THIS IS SO PRETTY....WHAT ABOUT A WALL HANGING WITH A SAYING...you could always do a couple more and make a trio....I don't really know...its too pretty to let go without really being seen. deanna
I agree that it is too pretty to just sit in a drawer. That is why I was asking for help. Getting lots of ideas. Thanks
IT'S GORGEOUS! I agree with everyone else Angie - a pillow centre or make a trio of them and have them as a central table runner! Love Chris
I may do that and practice how to put quilted blocks together. Thanks Chris
You could make another similar and put them together to make a tote or a book bag. It is lovely!
Lovely work , it would make a beautiful cushion
It is lovely...is it from Stitch Delight's new collection? So much quilting will make any block "stiff" or "heavy"...but they are beautiful...
Yes it is from Stitchdelight. I changed the stitch sequence, so only the quilting will show on the back side and consequently it has even fewer stitches all together. I love the pattern. Maybe I should do it as a 15x15 rather then the 9x9 that I did.
That would give you less "quilting per square inch"...and smart...If I were making these blocks as a quilt, I would do the same...but embroider the "floral" part on all blocks just with the front fabric stabilized properly....perhaps add some sashing between blocks...piece it all together...put the backing and batting behind the whole quilt top...do some in the ditch quilting to secure the layers...then go back, rehoop each block and then stitch the "quilting" through all layers...and when that was done, I might even go back and free motion quilting around the florals...if I thought it needed more definition...I have done this with some of my quilts as I love the embroidery, but do not like in-the-hoop quilts that are pieced block by block..or tops that have all of the embroidery and quilting done before the backing and batting are added...
That is a wonderful idea. How smart you are. That way one can determine the spacing as well. Truthfully I was being lazy, but I think I like your way if I want to do a quilt.
Ohhh, great suggestions! Lovely square. I don't know what stabilizer you have used, but next time try the polyester mesh to make it soft.
Jerrilyn no stabilizer. Top, Batting, and after the flowers were stitched I added the back to have only the quilting on the backside.
Oh this is beautiful and I love the background fabric. My suggestion is a pillow. Look forward to hearing what you do decide
It is lovely, it would make a beautiful pillow.
It would be pretty as a scrapbook cover or wedding album
Ahhhhh. Good idea. Tug it away for the future. No weddings in site right now, but GD has a nice boyfriend. :)
Beautiful design and your work is lovely. A suggestion - frame it in a picture frame. I think it would make a lovely wall hanging or maybe you could use it as a pillow cover.
