La petite fille est très mignone
et la tenue bien jolie
bravo Gisèle
What a lovely dress and model. Have you noticed that older patterns have more than one design, where as today they only seem to have one?
Jo
They make you think you have more views in the new patterns, but its really usually the fabric they change. Thanks about her dress and her.
I love this!! great job on the embroidery , too. I never throw away baby or little girl patterns. My daughter was born in 1968 and I still have her baby patterns. No one seems to sew any more. Who do we leave our treasures too? Kay
Leave them to my daughter, she loves all the old things, loves family re-unions, restoring or I should say having them restored. She is having an old iron bed sandblasted and repainted for her sons room...I keep children's patterns too,Kay. I have to confess I didn't sew much when mine were little, seems I was too 'busy'.
It's just how a girl ought to look! Really precious, Toogie.
Thank you Toogie! I have this same pattern...love the way you embroidered the tiny flowers. Pretty dress on a precious pretty baby girl!!! She is a little doll!
Brings back memories. My oldest was born in 1953 and I did a lot of sewing back in those days. Little outfits like this you do not see much of anymore. I love it/Lillian
Happy to walk down memory lane with you-lol- I like these older patterns too. Vintage or heirloom, I like them, makes a little girl look like a little girl.
Sweet...both the dress and the model...do you remember what pattern you used for the double seat panties?
Thanks and yes I do remember . I had some that were my daughters. I think I bought them at Sears. I ripped a pair open, starched and ironed, then cut me a pattern. Can you see the ' edging'? I made it with the same fabric using a decorative stitch and scallop stitch. I also made a yellow one with a different dress pattern. I haven't seen her wear it, so it may be a bigger size.
Thanks, Toogie...I have been looking for a pattern for the double seat bloomers, but have not found one...I was just hoping it was from a purchase...nice job on all of these..
She is absolutely darling & I hope she is on the mend quickly! The outfit is just adorable too. ~hugs~
So beautiful!!!Just the right dress for our little princess!!!!
Those vintage dresses are still so lovely and your dress is so sweet, especially with those daisies! Your model is adorable, hope she's back to her usual self soon.
Thanks mops, I'm sure she will be, she's a tough little cookie. Look at that toenail , matches her dress, she stumped it a week or so ago.
She is too cute not to feel well. Hope she gets better soon. The little dress is darling.
even not feeling well, she is adorable and such a lovely dress!
Very darling dress! Sorry the little one isn't feeling well!
Poor little tike - lavender looks lovely on her!! Sweet dress - well done. Hugs, Laura*
Thanks Laura, I thought the color was good for her too, but she is sickly pale.
I enjoy seeing this posting... She is a darling (and I'm sorry she is not feeling good and hope she is well soon). This is an adorable dress on an adorable young lady!
Thank you , yes, she was better by this afternoon. I said no more fever or diarrhea, but she still wanted me to hold and rock her (which I did). Thanks for looking!
Fun to see this. Pretty dress beautifully sewn! I still have the original 1952 pattern that my Grandmother used for me, and I have used it for daughters and grand daughters.
Thank you turtle owl, do you also have any of the dresses? I would love to see because she most likely emb by hand.
Sadly, no. By the time my 3 wore my dress it was no longer useable. Sure there are pics of the girls but my daughter has all the old photos to scan and I can't get to them now. The ones I made for daughters were given away to a little girl who needed clothes. I also did the flowers by hand but don't know what my daughter did with the dresses I made for the twins. I remember it was a challenge as the transfer was so faded from being used but at least it was kept and I was able to copy it.
