Love the dress, you did an excellent job! I can picture this dress also on a woman with just the sleeve design changed. I use patterns to sew but I have no problem taking bits and pieces from different ones. Great job!
Yes I guess it will look good on women too....thinking of trying for myself :)
Would love to see what you make as well...thanks a lot!
That's a beautiful dress, love the sleeves! Great job, Fatima.
Hugs, Lidia
what a beaut little dress, love the flair and sweet puff sleeves. great job.
You've done a great job!
I mess up with bought patterns - so I make my own. Sometimes it's difficult to get it to fall just the way I see it in my head, but trial and error,
Yes trial and errors teach us a lot....we just have to keep tryjng! Thank you so much :)
You have done an amazing job of her dress, especially with no pattern. For clothing I use a pattern, but other things I can usually make. When My daughter went to India, the ladies there measured her and made her outfit in no time at all. Love the dots, color and the puff sleeves! Great job!
Thanks a lot Toogie :)
Yup thats my country and this is the way its done there ...haha :)
Excellent dress! The A-line shape on the bias looks modern. Being cut on the bias should allow this dress top billing especially with a twirl.
Yeah true.....my girl adores twirly dresses! She calls them princess dress ...haha :)
Thank you so much!
It is very pretty & quite a nice way to make a new dress. ~hugs~
Love it - you are a wonderful seamstress! Hugs, Laura*
Love your dress. You have a big talent. I have trouble making anything fit with a pattern. LOL.
The sleeves are adorable. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely adorable........I so admire those of you who can do garment sewing........
Thanks a lot :) and i admire you lucky digitizers...hahaha :)
So great to just go ahead and design what your heart desires!
You have done a most wonderful job on the dress. The sleeves are something I've never seen. I will be looking up the way to make them.
I too must have a pattern.
Cindy
Thanks a lot Cindy :)
They were pretty easy...do give it a try! I have done puffed sleeves before for little kids but this was the first time i tried the shirring thread (the elastic thread or dont know what to call it)
Out standing ****excellent******whats left to say????hugs
What a beautiful job you have done...you are very talented to be able to take measurements and create garments...I generally always use a pattern...I love the shirred puffed sleeves, too!
It's gorgeous Fatima, you are very clever. I always use a pattern, I feel more in control that way. Your daughter looks lovely in it. Love Chris
Thanks a lot Chris :)
i think i should give a pattern a try....do you know of any where online i can get some?
I would first look to a reputable company such as Simplicity, Butterick, New Look etc. I've never bought a pattern on line, but I'm sure there are places around that do sell them. Love Chris
Beautiful dress.. I.like the colour. Puffed sleeves look nice on young girls.Your girl will look great too. Hugs..Shyam.
I lovtalent/r shirred /puffed sleeve! I have to have patterns except for simple skirts or sun dresses. I do envy people who can take fabric and turn out a work without anything to go by but measurements. My grandmother did that somewhat she would take measurements and sit down and draw off on paper what she wanted and do it. That always amazed me how she could look at a dress in a magazine or catalog and make it. Alas I have never even tried I did not inherit that talent. I love what you show here/Lillian
Thanks a lot Lillian :)
i too do it as your grandma did.....never seen a pattern till date....haha :) mostly i have seen patterns being used in 'the great British sewing bee' !
