Good morning Cuties,

I decided to make Ophelie a beaut little Pinafore. The pattern is Simplicity 1568A - this will be ideal for Corduroy or a heavier denim/twill fabric too. I've made this one in a 1930's antique green print cotton. When Amy saw it she suggested a pocket, so I have used a lovely sunny looking flower design from right here on Cute (link below). I then just sewed around the edge of the flower to attach it to the dress and left the top section open so Ophelie could put a little hankie or trinket in it. I've got Ophelie here at the moment with Aqualina and another little boyfriend of Ophelie's named Ethan- they are out in the loungeroom watching Stuart Little! I can hear lots of giggles about the little mouse being caught in the washing machine and blowing bubbles! I better go and supervise I think. Have a great weekend everyone. Love Chris

Cute Chris! I used to make similar for my daughter many years ago - the style will always be "in" I think.

Great job on the dress, Chris, and the kids look like they are enjoying the day at Grams, or what do they call you?

Such Sweet Potato Pies those little one are...adorable! Love the dress and the pocket is a beauty...I have made this same jumper for my little kiddles, too...although I did not put a pocket on it..I put applique flowers coming up from the bottom with rick rack for the stems coming up from the band at the bottom...Great job...now one for Aqualina?

Yes Kim, that is what is on the pattern. I decided not to do that. I'll have to make one for Aqualina too, a bit later. She is a big school girl now and wears a school uniform every day. Love Chris

Thanks Lorraine, it was such a wet miserable day today, but because all the kids were here I waited till they went to finish it off. I just got Ophelie to try it on so I could sew on the buttons before they left this evening. What a day my poor home looked such a mess, but the kids love coming here and playing dress ups etc. It only takes a few minutes to clean it up once they've all gone. I had to repair some things for Ethan's mum too, so did that late this arvo too. Love Chris

Thanks, you should have seen my kitchen we made 50 or more Jam drops, almond biscuits and biscuits with sprinkles all over them. Then Amy took them outside and put icing all over Arrowroot biscuits to look like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - so not only the kitchen looked like a bomb had exploded but now the back deck as well. But, yes, it was fun! All the kids said it was the best day ever. Love Chris
