I just spent 1/2 hour trying to fine where to ask this question. Yes I am slow!!!!

Has any one used the Viking large hoop 360mmx350mm? It was given to me when I bought my DD machine, now I also have the DDD. I have some designs from BFC Creations that can be done in the big hoop. I love this site I have learned a lot from it. Thank you,

Hi Kathy, I have the Viking Designer 1 which has as its largest hoop 360x150 and a Brother Quattro, the Brother has a large hoop too, 300x200 but I've not used it yet, never had a big design to make up. I'll look into it when I get out of hospital. Love Chris

I recently learned that I needed to buy the software to use this hoop on designs other than official viking ones. It's a disappointment to me that it wasn't mentioned when I purchased it. As usual with embroidery, another expense

Hmmm, not sure why you would need to buy software to use this hoop...couldn't you use some of the free editing software like TrueSizer to "build" your own design to fit this hoop and then save it in your format...and know some other designers like Graceful Embroidery are now making designs for this hoop, too...

Oh, good! You have been visited by the experts. I'm glad you found the place to post. You may want to look through the Q&A section. There is a tutorial that tells you exactly where to post anything. Can't wait to see your project!

Do you have any software for your machines? You need to look at the design in the software to check where the split will happen as sometimes it does not split at a good place in the design. I too have only used this hoop at the dealer with a design all ready for the hoop. Good luck. Hugs. Nan W

I have a Ruby, not the Diamond, but used it once at my dealer's. You just have to remove the hoop and turn it 180 degrees, replace it and stitch the other half of the design. So much easier than rehooping. Make sure it does not bump into something, including yourself when clipping jumps. - it 's a large hoop and needs a lot of free space around the machine. I have had the occasional mishap when using the 200x360 hoop and you don't want that to happen when stitching those large designs.
