On my travels, I bought some fabric in Scotland. They have just brought in a law preventing shops giving plastic carrier bags. They have had the same law in Wales for some time and I hope that England will not be long to do the same. I thought up this pun and thought it was worth turning into an embroidery design.

In South Australia they banned plastic bags ages ago. Talking about other states but not yet.
It is funny when we visit relatives and forget to take a bag in the shop as they just hand you everything loose. Even a dozen buttons one time.

One of my 'things' is plastic bags - oh, how I hate them. We have been paying for plastic bags in supermarkets for some years now but unfortunately it still does not stop shoppers using them. I always have masses of bags in my car.

Just love this bag Sue. Is it lined? Thank you for trying to save our planet

No lining - this is just a simple calico bag.

I love your saying and I love my bags. They are a great way to show off our embroidery designs and entertain the baggers and shop keepers too.

well done Sue, In Canada (well @least in Ontario) they charge 5cents @ most stores for a plastic bag. The charge is a deterrent in the hopes that you will recycle & bring your own fabric bags. It has been a practice here for a few years now & a very good one too. Wal~Mart is one of the few stores to still GIVE away the plastic bags. ~hugs~

they sell the interfacing cheap bags with the store logos on them but one wash & they are for the trash. Fabric is stronger & washable & they are fun to make too

I much prefer the fabric bags
You don't have to worry about them splitting and spilling everything./Like your pun also.

Always good to carry a fabric bag. And it is much stronger than the plastic ones. Like them with a plastic base in it. hugs Yvonne

Lovely Sue and very appropriate. It is surprising how quickly one acquires the habit of always carrier bag..

Very nicely done! I hope we keep using them in the US - because I use them as stuffing in door hangers. :)

You may need to consider using fabric scraps for that job :)
