Hi there all! Finally completed a pending project :)
I had embroidered these blocks afew days back just as a trial of embroidering on velvet but I think it is the upholstery kind! (Not the soft fabric like instead a little stiff and a very short nap velvet)Well then thought of putting them together into a cuboid box with a lid :) I put fleece as backing on each piece which gives a clean look inside the box.... had to hand sew half the pieces in the end!
So here it is....a pretty good size ( 5 inch cube) ! We can make it as big as your hoop can embroider! Can be used as a gift box....or to store some itsy bitsy stuff on the dresser or maybe even on the sewing table!

7806This is a great idea. I have a lot of blocks that were trials and never thought to put them together in a box. Also, the fleece on the back is great as a lining and cushion. Thanks for the ideas.

Another beautiful project from you - as always! I too love the shape of this cubed box. You can use any colour you like and even an upholstery fabric would work well. Love the finish you can't even tell it was put together by hand. You are very clever! Love Chris

Yes it was good for the purpose....but made a big mess in my machine! Just realised when I cleaned today. ...but its ok...its worth it! :)

31625I love it. You always seem to have your thinking cap on and come up with creative ways to use your stitching. It would be a beautiful pin cushion too with lots of space for pins for those big projects we like so much.
