Thanks very much Dragonflyer for your help. I was just coming to post to say I had solved the problem to find yet more very helpful advice. Without assistance/prods in the right direction I don't think I would have solved this at this point. There is something so special about the advice and help here on Cute, plus the challenges to try something different
Okay...try this....
Entering Text in Palette 9
Click on Text Attributes Tab along top...Go to "A" Text...use drop down arrow and click on big A
You will also see a Text Attributes box on the right hand side with Sewing Attributes and Color Palette...If you do not see this go to the View Tab across the top...and make sure Text Attributes is checked.
Select Font from your font list. Click on a blank page...you should see a prompt on the blank page...OR...you can go to the little white box in the Text Attributes area on the right hand side and just type your text in there. After you type in the text it will also show in the Sewing Attributes Panel on the left. If you don't have a Sewing Order Panel...go back to View Tab across top and make sure you have selected the Sewing Order Panel to show...
After you have typed your text..."Save As" and name your file...close the design page.
Open a new file page....bring in the Text design you created. Your text will appear on your new page...click on the text to select it...you should also see it on the right in the Text Attributes area in the white rectangle box...you can change the font...click on the Tet Attributes Tab across the top and you should see your Font selection drop arrow...also the drop down to change the size of the font...and when you text is selected...you can go to the Text Attributes box on the right and click at the end of the text...back space to delete...or click next to any letter to backspace and delete it or change it...after you have made the changes to the line...hit enter and it will update with our changes...If you want to add a second line...hold down the Ctrl Key and hit Enter...it will move the curser to the next line and you can type more text....
Thanks so very much. Its just after midnight here and I have just cracked it. I cant thank you enough
....were you successful? If not, let me know and I'll open my Palette program and give it another whirl...
Thanks for coming back but no it didn't work. I will have another attempt later tonight. I was rushing off to collect a grandson from school and return my books to the mobile library so I didn't have lots of time to keep experimenting.
Hmmmm, I have Palette 9 (PE-Next)..don't use it much...not very fond of the program...but I have I done a bit of lettering...If I am remembering correctly...all you have to do is select the lettering..go to Text Atributes...the highlighted text should show (in my program it is on the right side along with a color palette, etc..)...all I have to do is re-type in the smaller case letter or word or whatever you want and enter...you can also change the font as well...sorry I am not more help...
