More organza flowers - same design. This printed organza fabric is much stiffer than the usual organza so I only used one layer. I gritted my teeth and used metallic thread (both top and bottom) but it stitched beautifully. I used the bead and gathering thread method to finish the flower. These aren't realistic, but I though they would be useful for a golden wedding (especially if I could find some gold coloured wire instead of this bright green!)

These flowers are beautiful. I remember back in the 60's making some that are similar. Instead of stitching the fabric was glued and rolled onto the wire. Your way is much nicer.

Did you make them with stockings stretched over loops of wire? They looked good but you had to make each petal separately.

Embroidery is the art . Art overcomes the "realistic" . Your flowers are " artistically sublime ".

Metallic - I'm impressed! Makes me grit my teeth, too.

In the end, the teeth gritting wasn't necessary. My new machine didn't bat an eyelid!

These are so wonderfully done - I do like the use of the printed organza for them, as well.
