I made the ls-liane large butterfly - it is a tea light or candle cover. It was free quite awhile ago. you may cut off the edges if you just want the butterfly.
Thank You. I have done a few Butterflies so will see what my Girlfriend says.

Look there, I used a 3D Butterfly from
www.ls-liane-stitch.de
This may be too large (10.2 by 6.7 inches), although a 5x7 hoop can be used to create it, and it is applique rather than FSL, but it is only 1$ this month, and may work for your quilt. http://www.kreativekiwiembroidery...
Thank You. I have talked my Girlfriend into having a few of various sizes instead of one large one.
Take a look at this web site: http://www.stitchdelight.net/
The FSL Butterflies are indeed to embroider all the 4x4 frame. But still act because of three to four times greater than the simple layers butterflies.
Best Regards

Now I feel Stupid as I buy a lot from Stitch Delight and possibly already have some of these. Had not thought of these as I was looking for a Large Butterfly.
I got a beautiful one from embroideryshoppe it's a 3d one done on a shimmering organza it was sooooo easy to do and put together beautifully. Highly recommend this one for allsorts of projects I used it on tie backs in the bathroom and also put one on my straw sun hat.
This butterfly is beautiful but not sure that the 3D is what she is looking for. Thank You anyhow.
the ones at lianestitch are large, about 4x6 and there are quite a few to choose from, look under free designs for the Schmetterlinge tab
FSL as big as that would be quite heavy. I think I'd go with the organza idea. Butterflies should be light enough to fly!
yep, I too do not like sleeping under heavy things and hate it if my dressing gown slips onto the bed.
