I grew up with flour sack dish towels, my first sewing lessons were hemming these and my first embroidery lessons were cross stitch designs on flour sack dish towels. They bring back so many memories, they are very absorbent, but don't think the ones you purchase now are near as nice as the ones I learned on LOL/Lillian
That is most likely the case Lillian. These are quite thin so deceiving as well. They are really absorbent like you say & that surprises me still lol. ~hugs~
Das ist Dir wirklich gut gelungen. Das Motiv gefällt mir sehr gut.
Ich mag Redwork und werde es demnächst auch mal sticken.
Danke für's Zeigen.
Do you wash towel first - does it shrink alot? Really like your design.
thank you very much. Until I read Bev's post earlier today I never considered washing them. This is for my own use so I will see how well it washes before I consider giving them away. I would imagine it would shrink unless washed in cold water which is what I use anyway.
Such a lovely neat and crisp design Loralye, well done. Love Chris
Such a cute design. Always room for towels. These are great for drying.
I love these for drying dishes too. They somehow hold a lot of water but never get too wet to use. Have some designs I was gonna try and you have inspired me to get on with it! Love how yours turned out, hugs and blessings.
It would seem I am the last to learn just how absorbent these really are lol & now I know too. Thank you Penny, ~hugs~
This little Dutch girl is so Cute! She can dry my dishes anytime-lol
It is Beautiful!!!Love the design too...Well done
I too, Love these towels. They make a great gift when you need a quick gift. And embroidered makes them even nicer. Love your design. Well done !!
I'm so glad you posted this. I bought a couple of these towels for our travel trailer too. I love your design. I think I will buy some more of them.
I cut my towel in half lengthwise Karen so that this will fit through my drawer handle. They work surprisingly well & take up so little space too. We get them 5 in a pk & they are not too expensive so worth it for drying the dishes or whatever needs come your way. Hubs is building a deck & had to stain the railing so he used one to wipe off the excess stain. They are quite versatile this way. I would never want to use a normal tea towel but this sack towel was perfect for the job & I didn't mind that we had to throw it away when he was done staining with it. A good investment lol. I made a few of those cloth trays too they hold quite a bit & fit in tight places...just a thought
we use these at our church because they dry dishes excellent ,love your design hugs
I was surprised @ just how well they wipe the dishes dry! They are so thin I was stunned & they dry outside so quickly in no time @ all you can use them again! Thanks Carolyn I thought this design perfect as she is drying the dishes too lol
