At dog shows I've seen items knitted with dog hair. They were soft and lovely. I guess you'd have to have a spindle to do this.
The world is an interesting place. My daughter gave me a book several years ago about crafting with cat hair. I had 2 Himalayan cats at the time, one is in my avatar picture, but I never found the time to try anything. Those boys shed their fur constantly, so there was ample fur to work with. Sadly, they are gone now. and I have a new shelter cat with short hair.
Do you have this dog book? If you try something please let us know.
No different to knitting with wool. I'm not much good at spinning, but a friend of mine spun some of the wool from our Old English Sheepdog many years ago. It was delightfully soft.
Most dog hair is best mixed with sheep wool before spinning.
I'm sure it appeals to some but I can't imagine what it takes to wind the dog's hair into a strand you can use to knit an item.
I think this dog on the picture does not have enough hair, maybe with this one ( see picture) But I don't prefer to knit with doghair I think.....
Martha Stewart has sweaters (I believe sweaters) knitted from her dogs' hair. I saw her exclaiming over it on a show long ago. The items were lovely, I remember, and I wondered who would have patience to do that!
