Recently, I have read comments about the USA not being what it used to be and that folks have lost their patriotism etc. Well, it is alive and well in Utah!

I participated in the Freedom Festival Parade and watched the crowd stand in respect for the flag as it passed by. They then stood again as the military marched. Most parade goers were clad in red, white, and/or blue. The parade honored servicemen/women (both living and dead) for their sacrifices. They also honored firefighters and police officers.
On July 3rd 2015 we had the "Candy Bomber" speak about his experiences and then the children got to catch candy dropped from the skies.

On the 4th of July we had a group hang a flag, a very large flag in a canyon. I have added videos of the flag for those interested. I traveled to see it in person last night. I was amazed at the number of people that drove to see this. It was touching and I was overjoyed to see so many interested.

While I personally have no issues with other Countries and I believe we should all live in peace... I am thankful that where I live folks still appreciate and honor those that protect our freedoms and our lives. I hope the place you live has abundant natural beauty and wonderful folks like we do here.

You could put it on your website. There really isn't a way to do it here.

Nice to see some good old fashioned Patriotism, without showing racism. We live in Australia but my husband has relatives who live in Utah.

It is desert dry here and we are in a drought right now -- but I love the mountains!

I believe the majority of the USA citizens still love & honor their country & flag. But it seems the misfits that burn our flag, etc get so much media coverage. Yes, it's not like it was when we were young children...but I pray it will remain "the land of the free."

When I was young the Vietnam issue was getting started...I remember a lot of folks getting media attention then too. I don't know that there are more now than then...just FaceBook to help everyone see it faster now.
I am thankful for the sacrifices made so we could be free (even if it means some seem to abuse that privilege)

I so worry about the USA going down the tubes like Greece. How do we unite?

Very moving! The little island we live on still celebrate with a parade and lunch, honoring the men who have served and are serving. Thanks for sharing.

Many communities in our area also celebrate the holiday and honor those that have served!

I love hearing and seeing pictures of folks who honor our wonderful country who has done so much for so many. It is ingrained in me to stand and show respect for our beautiful flag by putting my hand over my heart. But I have seen too many pictures of students and adults doing terrible things also. I am very glad to also live in a place where respect is shown and so many enter the military.

Your links don't work. I always have trouble with Youtube links.
This is a great post and in my small community we post flags to cover the courthouse lawnfor every Holiday to show patriotism. There is a mega flag draped from the overhead bridge on the interstate and I only saw a very few that were not dressed in red, white and/or blue. I think patriotism is alive and well for the majority of United State Citizens.
This photo is a shot of just a small offering of the flags.
