What lucky little girls. This is a feat of unimaginable time and effort. I do hope the little princesses' mommies give Aunt Kimmy a certificate for a massage for those poor tired shoulders and arms.
Hello I have one to start for my granddaughter she will be 8 on 1st of August ,, I better hurry up.I have just finished one for our grandson of mickey mouse , I did a lot of unpicking. I know what you mean about lots of sewing ,I thought I might give mine some bling and use some metallic thread ,, mmmm not sure yet .
I bet your shoulders and hands are aching. Done my fair share of freemotion but not like this--only stippling or meandering. These was works of art. Lucky little princesses. Love that snowflake border of yours as well--sure wished you lived near me. You'd be a fabulous teacher.
Thanks, Patti...they were lots of work, but I know the girls will love them!
WOW WOW WOW! Kim, these are just amazing. I cannot believe you did all of that free motion quilting it looks so intricate. Your nieces will love these forever and ever (as the statement says!). Love your work! Love Chris
Thanks, Chris...I did get a bit carried away with the free-motion embroidery...
I agree with Lillian, my jaw is still on the floor - this is just AWESOME.
I am sitting here looking at an enlargement of it with my mouth wide open in amazement. Glorious! What hours this must have taken. The quilting cannot be described.. You are without a doubt the grandest Aunt anyone could ever have..They should treasure these and hand them down to their girls one day. You are remarkable/Lillian
Thanks, Lillian....they did take a bit of time, but I think they turned out well and I think the girls will love them.
Beautiful quilting and I love the addition of the snowflake border designs.
Thanks so much...when I was digitizing the snowflake borders I thought they might be a bit much...but I think they look okay...and they certainly bring in the Frozen theme!
I love the snowflake border that you digitized and they look absolutely perfect on the travel quilts. You have really done an outstanding job on the blankets and any one would surely feel loved by you snuggling beneath one! Super work by a very talented woman!
I can see why it took forever, but oh those many hours are worth it. These are all quilts to treasure.
