I remember wearing one of these, Mine was pink and my sister's was yellow . They were all the rage in the late '50s. My mother made ours. I loved mine. Thanks for the memories.
Those circular patterns are easy to adapt. For a bigger size take a bit of the top of the skirt and the waist gets wider.
I made a lot of these in the 50s, only problem was cycling to school on a windy day, you had to fight to keep it down.
Try this site. I think it is just what you need.
Thank you for the suggestions and comments. I especially like the chain with a class ring on it. My class ring was stolen during a move once . Maybe my son-in-law will still have his. Kay
I've got that same pattern around here somewhere Kay. Made me an outfit for one of the Nursing Conventions I went to way back. They had a 50s night. Ron went as a greaser, black jeans, shirt, even cigarette pack rolled up in his tee shirt sleeve. I had a chain around my neck with a Sr. Ring on it. Those were the days of fun and sock hops..
I love the old patterns. One of my regrets is I had to give away all of my patterns because of weight and space when we were moving around so much. Oh well, they wouldn't fit me now anyway.
Mine don't fit either. I have learned not to get rid of baby and children as they are quite usable again. Kay
Sew Terrific has an applique poodle if you need one. It's in the archive of free designs.
Try to google 50's skirt or circular skirt patterns there should be a tutorial out there somewhere to show you how to draft or enlarge a pattern yourself. It's not that hard to do.. Have fun..
I had this pattern when Amy was in high school and i made it in the pink with the poodle. Everyone loved it! Love Chris
I had one from the 50's when we were all wearing them. Mine was aqua felt with a gray poodle made out of real fur. my Mother made the poodle out of a fur collar that she had on a coat or suit, It was lamb I think. Kay
Ooh! You would have been the belle of the ball in that skirt Kay, love Chris
