These are lovely Sue. I also hate clingfilm - anything plastic. Our street sellers make covers out of net and then do the most beautiful beadwork around the edges.
Flies are such a pest. I have been using my fly swatter quite a bit lately. I'm sure you have heard of the woman who killed 7 flies in one blow (that's me). These would be the only ones that would not be swatted.
So pretty
Great covers. Thank you for sharing, Happy Stitching Brenda Lea
Absolutely perfect, Sue.......looks like you daughter is going to be a "chip off the ole block"......love seeing young people get involved in the arts...
NIce use of those designs! I don't know if there is a "perfect" product on the market that is as nice as these are for covering bowls.
My Mother made some of these when I was a girl only she used elastic around the edges to stretch over the bowls and crocks love your fly design.
The fly is the perfect design for the tops of your covers. They look great!
I hadn't thought of these covers in a while.... very "green" way to solve this problem. I love the flies on your covers. Those flies would scare the real things away!
I love these. I have some my MIL made for me with crocheted edging and beads! She actually put a ring of metal in it to sit over the edge of your glass! Love Chris
These are just lovely. I still use my covers - like my milk jug and sugar bowl - because it makes dining more pleasurable. Best wishes.
These are great!! I never make ME anything--it all goes for gifts but now I know what to do for me. Also a great homemaker auction project. Really a cute idea.
That would be a real conversation piece at a potluck dinner!
Really cute.
Here, we see many projects; they come lengthen our list of projects to achieve ...
Very cute work
Thanks for sharing
hugs,
He's certainly big enough to scare the "real" critters away. Nice job!
Lovely! It's wonderful to see your bowl covers. It is on my (long) list of things to do.
Super cute! I use to make bowl and drink covers using crochet doilies from the dollar store. I added a crochet row with beads for weight. I like yours with the solid fabric and embroidery. There are so many bug designs that would look adorable on the covers. Your fly is really nice. And, I too loathe plastic film as it gets all wadded up though I am partial to the press -n- seal brand. But your covers are much nicer and environmental friendly ;)
These are great idea. Where is the flyswatter? lol The crocheted edging will be a nice touch.
