Home for orphans. During the years my husband was very ill, there was little time for sewing. Now I am trying to restore and hopefully improve my skills. I subscribed to a quilt a month where you make a 12 inch quilt for display on a table stand each month. The provided backing was dull and as I looked for something better I thought of my orphan drawer of quilt blocks and embroidered pieces. The perfect back was there, and then I used another the following month etc. Sometime I have to add a border or two but I am now finding happy homes for the orphans. jobaby

A wonderful way to use the orphans. Good thinking on your part. I hate to see anything wasted, even mistakes can be useful. Very glad you are getting back into your sewing and quilting again. It can be very therapeutic/Lillian

Thank you. Yes, when you are truly creating, you can't think of anything else. Very theraeputic, as you said.

I think this is a great way to get back into stitching. I love that you are also using your orphans too. Enjoy each project. One day your cameral will show up and then we will be able to see the blocks.

The pile is getting smaller. Now, if I didn't have to eat, sleep, pay bills, and clean a little, think what could be accomplished.

Congratulations Jo on using up the little orphans. It's always so much fun going through things you've put away to do another day. I hope we can soon see the beautiful quilt you are making. Love Chris

I have a draw like this too, I put all my "mistakes"" on holders for plastic bags (don't know if every country uses these like a long sausage with cord at one end and elastic at the other"as I do markets they go well...wendy

No photos yet. Can't find the camera. After my husband died, a helper put it away in a "safe" place. It is very safe.
