Could it be the thread? Some machines are finicky about the thread. I'm having the same shredding problem with a cotton varigated quilting thread. But I want to use the thread. So I dragged the tip of my bottle of SEWER'S AID up and down the thread cone (maybe half dozen times for lge cone). It made a huge difference so I could finish my quilt. I also have some emb thread that I've done the same to. I keep a bottle of SEWER'S AID or mineral oil at ea machine. I fill the eye drops bottle with the mineral oil. It might be worth a try for you.
Thanks for the tip but I have been using the threads and had no problems before
Well I found a little more fluff in the upper tension and removed what I could and it sewed out the letter A with out any trouble then using the same thread tried a built in design sewed that out OK I thought I had sorted it out tried another with same thread and gone back to thread breaking the broken thread looks shredded think I'm going to have to take it to be looked at as I don't know what else to try I have looked at the common things to look at and even bought a new rotary hook surely if it was timing it wouldn't have stitched the A out? getting really frustrated been trying to sort it out on and off nearly a week I don't like giving up might see if I can by a tin of air spray Monday as a last resort I'm running out what to try
Yes, 0.0 and my repair guy said I would probably NEVER change that setting.
Hi, I have this machine, my tension is set at 0/0 Jean xx
make sure the needle is in the right way and that it is pushed up into the shaft properly- not picking up the thread is not generally a hook problem other than the timing being out from sewing something a bit to heavy or pulling the fabric through as you sew- don't know much about tension but 0 seems odd to me
Having another try today see if I can sort it out will start from the very beginning with the basic things to look at if that doesn't work I guess it's back to the repair man grrrrr
thanks for all your help and advise
Just try each one in order and see what happens. Start with 1 then move over on your test fabric and go to 2, etc.
Have you contacted your repair man and asked his advice?
