Very nicely done. Thanks for sharing Happy Stitching Brenda Lea
Thanks to everyone for all the nice comments. I was excited to stitch it.
And yes she was very happy to receive it.
Wonderful job. My bunch have already been back at school registering. Regular school hours start for them Thursday and the kids all start Mon. Been a short summer for them/Lillian
Gosh, it must have taken a while for you to design this! I love how you used all the different colors and fonts. Well done!
What a sweet surprise for your daughter. It will make her day. You did a great job.
Wow, it looks really nice stitched out! I too, made a subway art wall hanging for a first year teacher (she will teach 2nd grade) and this is one of the designs I found online and considered ;) Looking at yours makes me wish I had chosen it. Maybe a redo is in order! Your daughter is going to be so excited with this wonderful surprise handmade with love! Congratulations on your daughter being a teacher! Both my oldest son and daughter in love are high school teachers.
How wonderful you are to give her something to look at to remind her what a great teacher (daughter) she is!
This is beautiful. Thanks for sharing. mops' question below made me wonder the same thing so I looked it up and found the following website, interesting.
Your colours make it a perfect decoration. Can I show my ignorance and ask why designs for teachers always have apples in them?
I have no idea where I heard this but I have always thought that apples represent the Tree of Knowledge in the Garden of Eden (incorrect fact that it is) and therefore teachers were the givers of knowledge = apple. My mother being a teacher for over 40 years is probably where it came from?
Thank you. I noticed that as one of the possibilities mentioned in the article to which gwillman provided the link. Sounds nicer than dating back to a tradition of potatoes and other goods given as part of a teacher's wages.
I think this is the best gift for a teacher. Kudos to you for giving her this lovely saying.
I am sure your daughter will be very proud to hang this in her room. Sewn beautifully.
How appropriate for a teacher, this ought to make her feel wonderful every time she gazes at it. Nice job
That's so perfect. I had 2 sisters that were teachers. This will definitely make a smile.
