Help! I have been asked to embroider a onesie for my great-niece for her first birthday. Her mother has bought a tu-tu to go over the onesie, but I have no idea of what design to put on the onesie. Her mother has left it up to me to decide what the embroider design will be and the size of the design. I have never tried embroidering on a onesie before. The onesie is white. Ideas, please.

I would do a cupcake or heart or birthday cake with the number one. Hugs. Nan W

I had the same idea as aussiequilter and babash or maybe a small pair of ballet shoes. Good luck may your project go without hic up..

What about a pretty Ballerina? Find a design you like and test it out on a T shirt made from same or similar fabric.

A soft little critter, like a bunny or a sweet ducky, kitten. If not at least 1.5 x 1.5 inch, will not be noticeable. If much bigger than 2 x 3 or 3 x 2, it will overwhelm. Won't work with the tutu, but the cutest onesie designs I've seen have been on the seat by some of our Aussie stitchers!

I don't want to scare you, but buy some onesies to practice on before you do the final. They can easily be done, but they are tricky as they want to ball up around your frame. Go to Youtube and search for how to embroider on a onesie.
You can put a number 1 and then impose any of your favorite little girl designs over it.

I did a google search by putting the word and then the domain name on the search bar and got a few really good results.
