Wowwwwwwwww Mary this is so neat i used to do all that when i had the boys at home now i only do pickled beets.Wish i could come over and work with you on these wonderful Jobs hugs
Wonderful that you are having a nice crop. The lack of moisture then too much moisture and temps outrageous have given us green plants no fruits for our labors. I've planted tomatoes 2x and still have bean stalks not blooms.
Canning takes a lot of time. But it is so worth it when you take those out in the winter!
Everything looks wonderful, canning, harvesting and sewing, sure soul like to have you in our Homemaking Club/Lillian
I would love to enjoy your Homemaking Club but I am one of those kids over a 45 minute trip on road and I start in with are we there yet. I can't stand riding to long. But hugs and thank you for your kind words.
Mary-your placemats are gorgeous. Love that material.- Love nature and birds I watch out my french doors. As matter of fact the Hexagon Hot pad is just what I plan on teaching at our Spring classes called SOS [Share OurSelves] at our county extension office. I usually teach 2 classes at least. When I can get husband to get the pic's off the camera I'll post mine. Don't know if a scan on the scanner will work or not. Yummy on everything you're canning. I got all of 3 squash-don't know what kind but they look sick.
Would enjoy seeing your hotpad. With all the rain areas the vine plants have had a rough time survivIng. Squash bugs don't help either. Thanks
I take my hat off to all you cuties that can bottle and preserve you own produce. DH is lucky we have a friend that sends him up a jar or two of homemade pickles or chutney.. and love the fabric used on the table mats. Marian
I'd prefer the stitching to the shelling! Lovely placemats.
I also prefer the stitching, but if spoil man with goodies.....then I get spoiled with mine. Thanks
Cupboards filled with your own goodies and beautiful placemats - you are set for cheerful meals all through autumn and winter. Well done!
You have been a busy bee...and will reap the rewards this fall!
Love everything in all 3 photos, except shelling the peas/beans!-lol- What a plentiful harvest!
I told hubby I could have hand embroidered a King Size spread had more fun than them shelling of beans. But he was a sweetheart he helped with them.
Wow! That is impressive. My stuff is still trying to get there. I thought I would be a lot further along with my sweet peppers and hope I have enough to match with my tomatoes for sauce and salsa. I have made a few compotes and a relish, and refrigerator pickles today. I was so proud of myself that I made sauce with my own home grown herbs. Oregano and parsley from this year, and the basil was from last year. I am working on building a plastic bottle planter to do another round. I think I have that same fabric, it is one of my favorites and I have not cut it because I do not want to ruin it, and now I see it I have to pull it out and see if now is the time to do something with it.
I also grow herbs and dry them as well. I think home grown tasted so much better. It is a lot of work but feels so good as cold arrives. I got cucumbers but just eating on them mostly. I have some dill relish and sweet relish.
They had that fabric on sale and I felt it and since birds on it I feel in love with it instantly.
That is amazing. So much work with all that canning. Love the place mats colors. .
What a wonderful harvest. You are fixed for healthy winter eating. I love your placemats. What a great design!
We ate beans with several ears of corn cob canning night. I love eating fresh as it comes along too. Thank you.
WOW! You have been busy!! Are those canned beans as well?? Everything looks so yummy. I love canning tomatoes but my plants were late this year and did not do as well as in past years. I think it was our late and wet spring. I have never tried drying....sounds interesting.
I love your placemats too. It is nice to sit back in the winter and know that the cupboard is full and then there is time to sew!! Keep up the good work!
Hugs, Nadyne
Thanks, and I am looking forward to that full cupboard and sewing more.
