How do you know how much thead you will need to do complete a FSL project? Is there a chart some where to guide you? I did have a little chart posted by Shirlene long time ago but have lost it. Thanks for any help you can provide!

dear jrob- since this information came from Shirlene, is it safe to assume that these calculations include both the top and bobbin thread amounts? Thx

There were no further notations, but I would assume your bobbin thread may be more since it is thinner thread.

My software tells me how much thread a design needs of each color and total. I use Embird, but think other software does too.

I'm afraid that I didn't mark this very well as to the source, but I believe that this is the one from Shirlene:
Guessing how much thread I need: 1 King Cone = 11,000 yds/10,058m* = 1,999,998 stitches** 1 King Cone = 10,000 yds/9,150m = 1,818,180 stitches 1 King Spool = 5,500 yds/5,000m = 1,000,000 stitches 1 King Spool = 3,250 yds/2,972m = 590,908 stitches 1 King Spool = 3,000 yds/2,740m = 545,454 stitches 1 King Spool = 2,500 yds/2,285m = 454,545 stitches 1 Mini-King Spool = 1,100 yds/1,000m = 200,000 stitches 1 Mini-King Spool = 1,000 yds/909m = 181,818 stitches 1 Mini-King Spool = 700 yds/694m = 127,272 stitches 1 Mini-King Spool = 500 yds/455m = 90,909 stitches 1 Mini-King Spool = 400 yds/364m = 72,727 stitches 1 Spool = 330 yds/300m = 60,000 stitches 1 Spool = 250 yds/227m = 45,455 stitches 1 Spool = 200 yds/182m = 36,363 stitches 1 Spool = 100 yds/91m = 18,182 stitches *Based on .909m per 1yd **Based on 181.818 stitches per yd

This is great! Thank you very much!, I am going to print this and put it with my threads so I will have an idea of how much thread I need for my projects? Planning on doing some FSL and want to be sure I have enough thread!

You beat me to it! I've just searched back through Shirlene's posts and found that exact information which she posted in 2011.
