Such beautiful work Lorraine. I love the way you've finished off the straps too with the blanket stitch. Your work is beautifully stitched out. Well done, love Chris

I like your items and your sewing is very neat. Nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about, so don't be scared to post! I love seeing what you've made.-Toogie
Hi toogie, Thankyou, I tend to look at my work and say to myself.......would I buy this if it were in a retail shop.
Very nice...and great for either boys or girls, depending upon the fabric choices..
Hi dragonflyer, Yes well suited for either boy or girl, my next project will be centred around babies, hoping to do a personal changing carry mat and over the shoulder burp cloth.
Your friend is lucky to have someone so talented help her out. It is always hard to find things for the little boys. You could do a similar case for the little Matchbox cars or a "road map" mat they cam drive the cars around. Also, super hero capes are fast to make and the boys seem to like them.
Great Ideas! The Match box pockets could also be used for small lego men pockets with scenes on the mat so they can play on them when in the car, when lego sets just are not an option.
Hi rachap and pacmp,
Thankyou both for your great ideas. I have seen these on pinterest and thought these would be a great project to do also.
Kudos to you for helping out a friend. I know you and she will get a lot of attention with these lovely samples.
Hi 02kar, Yes Sue has been so busy of late in her shop and she is always so helpful and kind whenever we are in her shop, that I just had to offer to help her out.
These are great items that could be used for both boys and girls, Having items in gender specific does help some people to see ways the item could fit their own need. A few other options would be pirate eye patches using stars with sparkles for girls or more pirate themed for boys, face masks for dress up play- lot's of free options at Happily After Designs. Then there are the bath towel designs. Just a few other ideas if you were still trying to think of some ways to help your friend. You are a treasure to be helping her out when she is in need. Thank You for being brave enough to post up your projects.
Hi pacmp, Yes the towel idea is always a winner with the little ones.
If you have a look at the first photo, you maybe able to see a hand towel and face washer on the table. I have put a feature strip across the hand towel and cut out and appliqued the cars onto the face washer. These will be put into a little toiletry bag, another small project for Sue to do in her sewing/craft class.
These samples that you have done are just great. I am sure they will be a hit in your friends class. Well done, thanks for sharing. Sandra.
Hi Sandra, Thankyou for your comment. I enjoyed putting these together, my friend Sue at the shop wanted some projects for boys, so we thought the Truck material would be a good one to use, and so I used it for the bag and pencil case. Regards Lorraine
