UPDATE

It took me and hubby the entire day to box my sewing room, called it quits at 4:00 and could hardly move the rest of the day. Made me realize how dusty the sewing habit can be and this dispite my daily efforts to clean up at the end of each day. Counted and boxed over 300 large bobbins of thread and countless small bobbins. I am grateful for my wonderful racks my hubby made me a few years back. I discovered new fabrics that I had forgotten about, hense new inspirations for future projects. Can't wait. Only thing left to do is wrap ''Happy'' so she travels well, I wouldn't want anything to happen to her.

Today we tackle the kitchen, (last big job on the list) and will bring it down to basic essentials for the last few days. We will go camper style and barbecue. I like that part because then hubby does the cooking lol.

As all of this goes on, I am again responsble for the organization of our big family reunion coming up on the 4th of September. We have rented a14 bedroom Inn and I have company arriving on the 3rd so I am grateful that my children will be there on move in day to get us up and running. Planning menus, grocery lists, acitivites etc is a welcome change these days from the boxes but a big job nonetheless. I have been a good girl and deligated most of the cooking to others.

So for now that is where I am. I will try to get some pictures so I can show you where I am going. Will post as soon as I can,

Take care everyone,
hugs
Michelle

The first step in the "cure" for women who do too much is to tape the word NO in large letters to your telephone! It worked for me and it can work for you!

I will have to try that although I am much better at it now than I was a few years back. Health problems forced me to start using that word more often. It is just coincidental that the reunion around the same time as the move as it has been in planning for 2 years now.
It will all work out, I have a terrific family,

I'm so proud of you! My goodness you have 2 huge projects going on at the same time and you haven't fallen apart yet. Kudos to you! Don't hesitate to delegate everything you can during and after the move. I'm so excited for you and will look forward to seeing your new home when things calm down.

thanks Karen,
My only fear is that after this is all over and the adrenaline falls, I will have no energy left to enjoy it all. Reunion is going to be fun and will reduce some of the stress from all this happening so fast.
Pics as soon as I can, I promise

Best of luck to you .... Nice to have children to help you... I am happy for you. I packed up my sewing room because my hubby built a wall unit the length of the wall for all my "things" It was a job.. Nothing went back the same way. But boy it looks nice.. Just take it one day at a time one project at a time and before you know it is done. Suzanne

Thanks Suzanne,
I did manage to get hubby to pinpoint a timeline for my new sewing room (heck I think I will call it my new ''sewing studio'', it sounds fancier lol) and it should be done by mid September. That will give me a little more time to tweek my layout.
Can't wait

I know what it's like ,moving that is, Have lived in 7 different states and several different towns in some of the states Oldest daughter went to 17 different schools by the time she graduated from High School. Been on E. Coast and W. Coast and in South but never up North . In early yrs did all packing and moving and unpacking our selves. Later they packed and moved us.I could really relate some happenings. Anyway I know what you have been through and am so glad you are going into your dream home I know you are tired and don't know how you are handling the Reunion. Your family is blessed having you./Lillian

I can relate. I was left in houses with boxes stacked over my head many times. The move in 1973 took it's toil on me as I hurt my back and had to take a year's leave of absence from work. Moving is very traumatic for me.

Moving is a big job, we have 25 days to pack up 25 years. In our first 6 years of marriage we moved 8 times (he is not military, he is in egineering) When we moved into this house (1990), I jokingly told hubby I was going to make him sign a lease and that I wasn't moving again before the year 2000. I never dreamed we would have stayed 25 years. But here we are.
It will go well, I am confident.
