I had the pleasure this summer to teach my neighbor's 9-yr old daughter, Jacky, some basic sewing. She was so fun to be with, and built amazing confidence as she made 2 pillowcases and a pair of pj pants.

I made this t-shirt for her to celebrate her new skills!

I had purchased the sewing machine design from UT a while back, and saw something similiar with this favorite saying on UT Fans FB page.

Jacky loves her shirt.... and I love the hug that I got when I gave it to her!

What a great neighbour you are, and hopefully she will now have the basics and an interest to go on to other things. I would love to have a little girl in the family to pass things on to. Only boys I'm afraid, who knows maybe in the future i may be lucky enough to have a granddaughter. Sandra.

Great T Shirt. So nice that you are helping a child learning to sew.
Reminds me of a few years back when I found a Grade 7 boy a sewing machine. To this day he is still creating lovely items.
Thank you for sharing, Happy Stitching :~)

This is so sweet! I am thrilled always, to hear someone learned to sew. I hope she enjoys this craft as much as we do. What a nice way, for her to show her pride, no reason she loved the shirt! Good for you too!
