I have fnally found the time to try this step by step and hope I can explain it so you can figure it out. I am not sure that this is the way they would teach you in a class but it is how I have figured it out by myself and it works for me.Before I turn my computer on I put the stick in the usb slot. Also be sure your dongle in inserted in a usb slot. 1. Find the design you want to use-for example one of the Cute letters. 2. Double click on it. Your screen should say "Software module is opening" BE PATIENT!!! sometimes it takes a minute or two but your 6D will open and your design will show on the screen-the hoop outline will show. 3. Be sure that along the top row of words you have HOME selected. 4. click on copy and you will see the design down on the little screen, lower right. 5. Skip cut and paste and go to "BOX SELECT. I usually just click"select all" .6. Go up to upper left and select FILE. A drop down menu comes up, click SAVE AS 7. A new screen comes up. On the left, first column find where you want to put this design ie/ you probably will want D1 stick or whatever you have named your stick. Click this & another screen opens, click SAVE down @ bottom right. This should put it on your stick. Before you take the stick out of your computer be sure to click the green arrow to Safely removehardware. Hope this helps you, will be interested to hear how you come out.
Welcome to Cute. I'm illiterate when it comes to computers but I'm sure there will be some here that can and will be more than willing to help you/Lillian
Try import instead of open, that might do the trick. And use Explorer to read what's on your stick and what format your files are in - I presume they will be .shv.
Can't help you right away but I do still have my Designer 1 stick and I have 6D so I will put the stick in the computer and see if I can see the designs and try to see how to upload to it. I do know across the top tool bar there are some different steps.
Hi brimclose...sorry I can't help you, but wanted to welcome you to Cute...hopefully, someone will be alone shortly and help answer your question...
