Hi Cuties: If you are like me and have a hard time removing the screws on your machines, try this.

I bought some Fimo (modeling clay), cut some off and rolled it into a round shape. Flattened it out and then sunk a Nickle, Dime or Quarter in the clay. Bake it in your oven ( I have a little toaster oven) at 175 degress F for 30 mins. Let cool and you have a handy screw driver that is easier to handly in tight spots.

Oh my goodness!!!! What a fabulous idea--it is such a tight space between the bed of the machines and then the top area that a screw driver can't fit there. Mine came with a little round turn key but with shaky hand still that thing still slides off. This one you've made should stay in place while turning!!! I think I have some clay up in a box!!! lol Bought and never used.

I shared this with my husband who is a modeler and he says "Wow". He's listened to me as I try to unscrew to clean my machine. Also, thanks for your cleverness and marvelous suggestion. Our hands and fingers just can't get into those tight spots and the screwdriver just doesn't fit.

Your welcome. Make a couple, one with a dime and one with a nickel or quarter as they are different thickness's.

This is very clever of you. Always have fumbled about using the tools that came with my machine, as there wasn't sufficient leverage. This will work solve that. Thank you for sharing!!

Your welcome. It works for me. I don't know why they put the screws in such an awkward place and have things so far back from the front of the machine. Doesn't make it easy to work with. I hope if you try this, it works for you. I did one with a quarter and one with a dime, because they are different thickness's.

This is what gave me the idea. I only use the top right kind, so thought...why not make my own.

Aren't you inventive. I know how you feel about hands not being as good as they used to be. Now that solved your problem.

Thank you. It works for me and only cost about $3.00 plus the coin to make. Fimo is so useful for other things as well.
I made my own embroidery hoop replacement screws and added Fimo to the end to make it easier to turn. They work and a lot cheaper than buying replacement parts.
