Great job. The leaves really finish it off beautifully
This is absolutely beautiful. Love the leaves scattered over the top. Great idea. I don't quilt but I can drool really well. lol
Hi Leaha, Thankyou. This Quilt is the third one that I have done, I thought I would start on an easy one first, Just sewed 5" squares together and put on some backing.
Regards Lorraine
Wow I love the way this came out. Great job.
Hi crafter2243, Thankyou
You should try it, it isn't to hard for beginners to do, just sew some squares together, any size you like, the bigger the quicker of course. Then put a backing on it. Lastly, you can stitch in between the seams or as I have done Embroider all over it.
Regards Lorraine
I love your work, Lorraine. I read your comment to laffma1 down below. Am I understanding you have no batting in, between your block top and your back piece? Are the blocks cotton or faux suede? What is your back? This really came out pretty and I love the random placement you have done!-Toogie
Hi Toogie, The quilt is all cotton, the backing fabric is the same as the printed Japanese 5" squares on the front. The only area that has faux suede is the boarder Top and Border Back, and under the Applique leaves. It washes up beautifully every time too. I just put it in the washer on gentle cycle and hang it on the line to dry.
Thankyou for looking Toogie.

Stunning! This is truly beautiful.
(Lorraine, since this has machine embroidered leaves, you could have put it in projects had you desired. Not necessary, though.)
Hi jrob, Thankyou for your kind words.
I'm still trying to find my way around the different box's, I'll get the hang of it eventually.
Regards Lorraine
It's even better in real life - I saw it at Lorraine's home when I was in Adelaide earlier this year. It's absolutely beautiful Lorraine. Love Chris
Hi Chris, Thankyou so much. It was an easy quilt to put together, the challenge came when I had to put the Embroideries on it.
When I made this quilt I had only been Machine Embroidering for such a short time, I was a little scared that I would stuff it up.
I'm so glad it turned out so well.

Oh my - it's gorgeous! The appliqué work is wonderful. Bet it is very warm on a cool autumn evening. Nicely done.
Hi laffma1, Thankyou. Yes it is surprisingly cosy on a summer night. I only used the top layer and backing layer for this quilt.
