My granddaughter wants me to embroider on her new 'store purchased' dance bag. It is made of shiny, slick material and is thinly padded. Any suggestions before I give it a try? I wasn't going to hoop, thought I'd pin it to a stabilizer and maybe put WSS on top just for good measure? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I love painter's tape which is what I think Dragonflyer and graceandham are talking about it. I use painters tape and clothespins, and the big clips that have magnets on them for bulky fabrics.

Good luck and post the finished bag...

Thank you, I have the painter's tape that I use when laying out my quilts so I may try that. I'll let you see when I complete it.

I agree with graceandham...no pins...tape and possibly temporary adhesive stabilizer and I would probably use a cut away...and slow your machine down...

I will do the adhesive and if I'm able to tape it, I will. I just found out how to slow down my machine! Thank you for the suggestion!

If the pins will leave permanent holes, try instead the dull, not shiny Scotch tape (green plaid cover). It holds, but removes easier. Good luck. The difficult we do immediately. The impossible takes a bit longer.

Yeah, this is taking me a little while to start :) Thank you for the suggestion. I'm not sure if I'd be able to tape the bag to the hoop though.
