good for you & here's hoping this coming sale is even better! ~hugs~
That's great and what a good feeling! Don't do too much yard work...my mother used to ask, "Don't your hands hurt too much to sew?" :)
When you have a machine, Load it up with thread and design I can't see that this would make your hands hurt.
That is encouraging news Lynn. I hope this coming market will be a good one for you too. I know what you mean about the garden going wild, it's been so hot recently and making the grass grow quicker. Love Chris
I lost my sheep (Grass cutter) last summer so the grass is growing so fast. I never realised how much she ate.
You may even have a rescue group in your area that has a sheep or similar needing a home
Hope the weather was kinder to you than it was at the market where I had a stall it got to 35 C .Last week it was wet & miserable about 15 C only went to get our fruit & veg order .Even though daylight saving started the crowd was thin & it was a long weekend ,the heat kept them away.
The weeds here didn't even stop growing during winter & now they are growing faster.
The day of my Market was beautiful. Also the Long weekend with Monday at 35C. Next weekend my Market they are saying 25C which will be great if it is not windy. I hate chasing things around the ground.
Lyn,
I am curious as to what price people will pay for coasters here in Aus. I never know what price to put on my items.
When I first started selling coasters I made them $1.70 each Then I thought that is stupid as I sell little Owls for $2 so I made them $2.50. I feel they should be more but they don't take a lot of thread or effort. Think if you charge too much you will not sell them. Hope this helps.
Thanks Lyn,
I guess it depends on the amount of work. I would like to see a photo.
Bookmarks seem to sell reasonably well at the stalls I have but it is hard to predict. What seels one time doesn't necessarily sell next time. I hope if you put some of your tatting on your stall you charge a bit more.
I am glad you started up your machine again. I bet it is easier then tatting. This lady must have really liked your coasters to have purchased 7 of them
Actually she bought 6 and then came back to buy a lime green one. Like customers like her.
So happy your sailing things .What kind of coasters did she buy ??Just curious what's sailing on your side of the world hugs Carolyn
Carolyn, Haven't bought coasters for some time. I usually stitch out the ones I have and then maybe only half a dozen designs.
Coming up to christmas, you will probably be very busy with your markets. Coasters or placemats are usually quick and easy small items to make, bookmarks are good sellers too. Outside can usually wait a little longer, as you embroider wonderfully it is not always a task but pleasure. Hope your market stall leading to the holidays, is successful for you. Sandra.
Glad you are up and going. What kind of coasters are you making? We have had so much rain here in Georgia that my grass has not been cut in several weeks. Terribly over grown and the rain keeps coming. Kay
Hi Kay. If I remember I will take a photo of the coasters I am doing. Wish we could have some rain.
I think, Lynn, that we need to wash the windows to make it rain. I washed both of my sons' cars this morning and we did get a few drops :)
