Treat this thread as you would a metallic thread. I use a thread stand, the spool is standing on end rather than horizontal and I have it several inches away from the machine. I thread the machine just as I would with any thread. Some folks might want to use a net over the spool. I have not had any trouble with metallic thread doing it this way. I have helped someone who did not have a thread stand. We used a large coffee cup and set it on the floor of all places. She then had no trouble. So experiment to see what works for you. I agree with you, you need to use a good brand of thread. But try the C&C brand now and see if it works. And let us know if you found a way to use the thread and what worked for you.
Robison-Anton makes glow in the dark "Moonglow". I have had good success with the rayon, polyester, and metallic threads from them, but I have not yet tried the Moonglow.
I just ordered one spool of Moonglow from Allthreads. I will try it and let y'all know here how it works when it comes in. God bless you all!!!!
I'm also interested in a solution for breakage. Nothing I did--needle, machine speed, spool position--worked to solve it.
It will NOT work on my 5x7---but it did sort of ok on my little cheapie workhorse 4x4. I only have one speed on the cheapie---but it does a great job!! Thank you and God bless you..
I have used this glow in the dark thread & I used Gamut & it was not a good experience for me. It was not fun at all & kept breaking finally I was able to slow my machine down & use a thread spool cover from my Hemingway spools & then i did ok. I hope you get better responses from other cuties. ~hugs~
Do you have a brand you can recommend??? I have only used C&C and I will not buy it again. Does Hemingway make a glow-in-the-dark thread that you know of? Thanks and God bless you.
sorry I wasn't clear I used the gamut thread & placed it in the Hemingworth spool holder then it worked ok
