Loopies happen. I was told by my teacher to pull them to the back and if large, secure with some hand stitching.
Check for the problems as mentioned below. It is so, so easy to misthread (tip - we all do it every now & then). Re thread if still using same colour just in case.
Happy stitching & welcome
Welcome to Cute. I gave you a flower. You're not all that new to embroidery - I didn't know what a bean stitch was for a long time!
Glad you got some good advice and help below, and I just wanted to welcome you to Cute. Love Chris, Newcastle, Australia.
Welcome to the cute family, i see you have some good answers below, from very talented people. So i will not repeat them to confuse you ,We are always here to help when we can. Sandra.
sounds like just a few 'teething problems'. If everything is as it should be, new needle[sized to suit fabric], stabilizer correct and especially the bobbin [perhaps just try a pre-wound] then put it down to experience!! good luck and welcome to the forum
I see you have some great answers to your question....welcome to Cute...you will love this warm and friendly and knowledgeable community!!!
A warm welcome to you. If you can post a picture with this post it will help us out a lot. We need to know if the loops are on the top or the bottom. Very often loops on top indicate a problem with the bobbin. And pennyhal2 has given you some info on that. Let us know when you find out what the problem happens to be. We are all learners no matter how many years we might have been stitching.
I get loopies from time to time. A lot of my problem was that I was putting the bobbin in backwards for .....13 years. I'm a slow learner. Anyhow, it seems that even when I do everything right...cleaned the bobbin area, rethreaded the thread, check the tension settings, changed the needle etc., I stipp get a few loopies. What I ususally do if I notice it right away is to backup a couple of stitches and just stitch over it so it lays flat. If I've stitched too far along before I notice it, I put a drop of Fray Check just on the back of where the loopie is and let it dry. Then on the top side I just cut the loopie off. You have to be careful with Fray Check as it will leave a spot, so don't use it if the back side will show.
Welcome to Cuties! Would love to see your project too!
I would like to add Penny, that if I have not caught the loop in time, when I have finished I put a pin through where the loop is and pull the loop to the wrong side.
Did you use the same color on the beanstitch as you used on the satin that stitched well? If not, it could have been a threading error when you changed colors. You also could have some debris in the bobbin area of your machine which causes that. It also could be a burr on your needle. My "finger" on my bobbin case must be threaded in order to stitch properly. There are lots of things that could have caused the problem. It's hard to diagnose without seeing what you did. Wish I could help you.
Welcome to Cute Embroidery, anyway. As you find the time, read through the Q&A section for tutorials on how the site works. I'm glad you're here.
