You will probably need to buy a converter. When I was stationed overseas all my 110 electronics had to run on a converter to step the power down from 240 to 110 other wise their is a chance that you will burn up the power supply.
Thank you cuties for all the info...I'm off to the shops to look for a power supply adaptor...you are just great
Cannot help you with the machine but my iPad comes from the States and I have had no problem. Sarah (Knysna)
Hello,
I bought Janome MC12000, in Canada in January 2015 and brought it to India now . I am using it. I asked the Janome in Japan they told me they manufacture sewing machine so that the machines can be used all over the world. In Canada the voltage is 110 and India its 220. I am even using the same power cord too.
You better check with machine manufacturers.
We moved from the US to Egypt 10 years ago and I took my embroidery machine with me to Egypt. It worked well until I forgot to use a transformer one time. The US is 110 v and Egypt is 220 v. I blew out my machine but luckily thanks to Egyptian ingenuity they rewired it for 220 v. You should be ok as long as you remember to use the transformer.
Why not check with the manufacturer of the machine you have in mind? They should be able to tell you if that is recommended. Hugs. Nan W
Dont know if this helps but I brought all my machines from SA to UK and have had no problems
Sorry i can not help you with the sewing machine. But i bought my husband an i pad with american fittings from a walmart store, when we returned to Australia i bought an adapter to our aussie plugs 1 year on. We have never had a problem with it. I do not see why you would not be able to do this also to suit your country. The reverse of what you would have used in the us to run your phone or computer as we did . or South African things you took to use there. Hope this can help you in some way and it makes sense to you. Good luck. Sandra.
