*** Cuties *** We have quite a few new users here. It seems many may have failed to read the Terms and Conditions of this website.... Please do not add links to illegal websites. Read the Terms and Conditions of this website that you agreed to abide by when you signed up here. We take copyright and licensing very seriously here on Cute! When in doubt -- do not post it here.

A website that offers -- for free or payment -- a design that belongs to another website without permission is stealing from them. Websites that sell designs do so to make a living. Intentionally bypassing a website by using websites that offer free or reduced pricing on designs that belong to other websites without their permission -- means you are stealing -- even if the other site is offering the design for free. There are many designer/digitizers here on Cute and we prefer to support all digitizers by spending a little money. Please make sure you are following US and International laws whenever you post here on Cute.

I find it very frustrating when you go to look for something and up pops designs to be found on ETSY and FB pages. When I look at them I often see designs that have been done by digitisers other than those being offered. It must be an absolute mine field of problems trying to legalise all of them.

I for one only buy from reputable companies and am so appreciative of the work our Moderators do in alerting us to the illegalities of some of them.

Thanks for keeping us so well informed Moderators. Love Chris

All good points, Rescuer and I am appalled at what happened to Martine (see below).....

Thank you for the reminder.

I was once offered a design by someone demonstrating machine embroidery at a fair; she was willing to share the design she was using at half the price she paid for it. That in itself was illegal. But even worse for me: it was one of my own designs, posted free in DBC.

Sorry, but that made me laugh at first. I would have loved to see her face when you told her. In reality however it is sad.

Can't believe the gall of that person! I hope you let her know the ramifications of doing that!!! Love Chris

I remember you having let us know this before

Definitely a story worth repeating, as we do get many new members and members who do need the reminder or who may have missed it the first time. I am shocked again. Just what are the chances that the design she was offering to sell at half price would have been from the digitizer herself who created the design and had made it available for FREE!
