A big thank you to Anita for her help with the round corners! I was having trouble with the mitered corners So she shared with me her award winning round corner receiving blankets I love it & it is so much easier for me then the mitered ones. I did as she suggested & used fancy stitches to join the 2 flannels together. I used a solid on the blue side & a variegated thread to match all the letters in his name. To make it more personal I added the Applique Font from ABC

Very cheery colors, nicely done. I just do ordinary single layer receiving blankets and serge the edge with a narrow 3 thread overlock stitch. I shorten the stitch length when rounding my corners and usually use nylon wooly thread. Yours makes for a nicer and warmer blankie though. Nice thought for decorative stitching all the way round.

Great job Loralye and Anita!! What is the secret to making round corners? Perhaps, it is just easier than mitered? If that is the case, I need to give it a try! Hugs, Laura*
