I am sure your visitors will love these. You have done very well. Hugs Shirley
These are fabulous! And I love those Aussie fabrics and I'm sure your visitors will, too! Well done!
These are great! I like how you got the placement of the fabric just right. You can just feel those cars zooming around. Pokies on a satin stitched border are always a pain in the ole patootie. I used to use markers except it bothered me that the colors didn't always match the thread well. Most of these kinds of borders have a couple of different kinds of underlay, like a straight stitch, a triple stitch, a couple of zigzags, and I find that if I trim after each pass of the underlay, it helps if I get out my tweezers and carefully snip off any potential pokies along the way. If I still don't like what I see after the satin stitch, I do the satin stitch a second time and that provides a lot more coverage and gives a pretty good definition to the edge. That won't work with varigated thread as you'll never get it lined up properly.
Thank you for your hints. Not sure how it would work the way I did it as a sandwich. But worth thinking about for future projects. Always willing to learn.
Great mug rugs - awesome choices of material - I am sure they will love them all :)
Lynnea, I just deleted your post as it had an email address in. I tried to send a PM but I got an error message.
Can you please repost your comment/question without the email address?
Love the choice of material, they have turned out very good indeed. Sandra.
Such lovely placemats you've done& these fabrics look delightful too. I particularly enjoyed those down under animals. Thanks for sharing your work. :~D
Thank you. Funny thing is the down under fabric was on sale and while I didn't have a project in mind at the time and was trying to decide how much to buy. My DH told the lady she will take it all. So I have heaps of it.
