15-10-28-Thank you everyone who included my daughter in their prayers and said such wonderful things. My daughter's surgery seems to have gone well. She is home and said what they found when they were finally doing the surgery is that she had a herniated disc. Now if she would just take it easy. As she put it...she went to the mall and then tried to go visit a friend. She was on morphine and oxycodone before the surgery and says she hasn't had to take a pain pill since last night. I hope this is the answer to the one problem. She has many other health problems but the pain from this neck injury is what was worst. Now her question is...being they put a steel plate in her neck..just how cold will that plate get in the winter? lol

Sorry saw this post after I answered an earlier one. So pleased to read that your daughter's surgery went well. Now she needs to rest and let her family look after her. Love Chris

I know she needs to take easy but she has a mind of her own. I know if she doesn't act like she needs the rest her family is going to go back to letting her do everything again far to soon and she really needs to heal.

Yeah they helped her! I pray the rest of the issues are resolved also, and a think a neck warmer in her Christmas stocking is in order.

Cute about the neck warmer. I am glad she finally said enough to all the things they were suggesting that 'might' help and I worried so much about her taking the strong opiates for pain. After she was born the drs. put me on codeine under 3 different names (during the dark ages before all the drug awareness) and I became addicted and coming off them was horrible. We played cards on fridays with neighbors and I still remember having the chills one night.

I'm so glad to hear she is doing better. Herniated disks are awful when they impinge on a nerve. I hope she gets better and better each day. My brother has a titanium plate in his hip and he complains it gets cold. So sorry to tell you that, but I want to be honest. be sure she keeps a scarf around her neck to help protect it.

Thank You, I joked with her about being they have battery operated sox maybe they also have a battery operated scarf. She lives in Montana and the weather there has been known to get -40 and with the wind chill factor...brrrrr.

Awesome. I am so glad that this operations seems to be a success. I do not think the plate will be affected by the cold because of the body heat.

It is so good that she is feeling better. She needs to rest and take it slow until the healing process is complete.

I know she needs to take it easy but I can only imagine the high she is on from no pain. I wish she would listen. I remember years ago she had a tubal pregnancy and had 23 staples across her abdomen. The night she came home from the hospital she went to the store and picked up 50 lbs of dog food because no one else would help her and on her budget the big bags are cheaper. Dumb way of thinking and she could have hurt herself. Hope she doesn't go that extreme this time.
