Lidia, I somehow missed this one---Another gorgeous design and stitch-out. Your colors are so festive looking, I was glad to read that you use other fabrics as your base--I like reading about how everyone accomplishes the finished piece.
Hi Patti, I have used this gabardine fabric for another couple of Christmas doilies in the past, with good results because it's strong and the gold metallic thread shows better against the blue. Hugs, Lidia
That is just sooooo beautiful my friend!
Hugs, Roberta
LIDIA very nice and so beautiful doily for Christmas .love the colour of the fabric designs looks nicely on it,HUGS stella
As usual stunning. I love your imagination you come up with some wonderful combinations. This is beautiful.
I love it when you post a doily! They are so well done and each different in its own way. Fabulous!
Lidia, you really made me take a look at all of the Sue Box designs that I have collected and/or purchased over the years. I have quite a few of her Christmas ones including the above. I really want to see how this would turn out in my 360X350 hoop...would make a great centre piece! Thanks again for sharing what you do and "pushing buttons" in my mind to see what I can do. Be blessed, Avis
Wow, with that large hoop, you are able to create a spectacular doily with this design! I'm looking forward to see your pictures. Thank you for your comment, Avis!
Hugs, Lidia
Another gorgeous doily. I always think...this is my favorite...OK now THIS IS my favorite.
Oh how lovely Lidia, I love seeing all the wonderful doilies that you create by editing the designs!~hugs~
Absolutely beautiful, Lidia! I truly enjoy your doilies. Joyce
It's wonderful Lidia. The holly colors show so nicely against the blue fabric. Lovely border as well.
Wow! Great way to start out on Christmas Lidia…/Lillian
Lidia another lovely piece..what type of fabric did you use and did you cut away the edge or use the soak-a-way again...I saw this on Sue's site today to....love Kerry
It's gabardine, a piece of fabric that remained after I made a skirt for myself many years ago. It was still new and in good conditions, so I have used it for this doily.. :)
I have hooped water-soluble Vilene, as I always do, placed the fabric on top, and trimmed the edge just before embroidering the satin stitch. I saw this picture featured on Sue's Newsletter but not on her site.
Thanks for your comment, Kerry.
Hugs, Lidia
