Very disappointing for sure...it's one thing when it is a free design...but when you spend hard earned bucks for this type of design...not acceptable in my book...I would contact them again as asterixsew has also suggested...I have had this same type of situation with misrepresented designs...after something like this happens...I just won't go back if they will not make it right!
Thank you. It's such a downer! If they would at least give a complete description and picture on the website for new customers, that would be good.
it's such a let down when you get excited and purchase an item or design only to have it not be as described or shown. I would contact them again in hopes they have realised their mistake and either rectify or replace it. Marian
Thank you. I'm trying to figure out how to contact them another way. They had sent a "auto-reply" and so I thought there would be a fix coming. I still have hope.
The shape of these bandana bibs makes them easy to sew, but difficult to do them in the hoop. I tried what size I could get in a 7x12 hoop, and it is tiny. 8" for the sides and 5" from neckline to the point (could be a bit more when you made the neckline straighter, but limits the size of the neckline even more). My maximum hoopsize is 200x360 or 7.9" by 14.2" which would allow those measurements to be 9.2" and 5.5" and a 12" neckline; that would still be small for a baby unless you put a couple of ribbons in before sewing the last outline.
I agree you should have got a better answer than look at facebook.
Oh! Thank you for getting to the design issue! I didn't imagine it all ahead of time. As soon as I opened the design and saw how small, I decided to rotate it out of the corner and enlarge it. I centered it and selected rotate to no avail. It would enlarge so that the final product was 3/8" larger. I have already embroidered 7 designs for drooling bibs for a friend.
I was going to finish them ITH! I will go back to my original plan of the sewing pattern.
I was thinking exactly what sewtired posted. Hope you get a good resolution.
How absurd to call that a baby bib. I looks like a kerchief collar for a small dog. I can understand being leery of posting the name of the site, but could you post the picture of what it was supposed to look like?
Please don't post pictures that were with the design when you bought it as they are 'property' of the site and copyright would be broken
Thank you for your discretion.
Before adding the name of the website -- please contact the moderators. There is a list in the Q&A for those that do not know all the names. You can copy and paste the list.
Thank you. I'm hoping that the right person at the site will find out and take care of it. This is a very new design and I just want to believe it will be made right.
Why don't you tell us what site it is??? I think we need to know so we won't go to their site...
Kathy
I think most of their designs are as presented. I trusted that a baby bib would fit a baby and be appropriate size around the neck at least! Ha!
Buyer Beware is sure the right title of your post! You have politely contacted them and their brushing off your problem by saying it was already addressed on facebook to me sounds like they are saying "This fixes the problem, now deal with it, and do not waste my time with repeat emails for issues that have already been addressed." So even if they had good products, that you have been happy with, in the past, this would be a deal breaker for me. Customer service, when there is a problem, is what earns return business, at least from me. If I have a problem I will give them an opportunity to fix the problem, but if I have to badger them to get the problem addressed, or they make me feel petty for my complaint, I will just no longer make any purchases from them. Generally they are not going to be the only person I can do business with. If they truly are the only one providing the service I am after, then I will try to give another opportunity, but once burned it is hard for a business to gain my trust again. This bib does not look like a bib, especially for the 7x12 hoop and if the sample model you saw was on an infant or an infant mannequin, when you made your purchase, and if it was not like this bib turned out, and you followed the directions of proper seam allowances etc, then it comes across that they were being deceptive in their pictures, implying a larger bib on a real child not a doll or a small pet. Once a site has been misleading, then I would always be suspicious wondering what they may be hiding or misrepresenting in their products displayed, worried that I would be taken advantage of again. I have enough stress in life without needing to doubt every thing a site says or having to try to figure out if their products really are what they have posted. It is not worth doing business with those types of businesses. Errors can and will happen, but when they do occasionally happen, and as soon as they have been made aware that there is a problem with the product or with the wording of the advertisement of the design, they should have quickly dealt with the situation. It is better to apologize and make the situation right, even if it means giving a credit or a return of funds or adding a little extra design for the trouble that you had, just something to say that your concerns are valid and they were sorry for the misunderstanding or inconvenience or for your loss of materials. I also commend you for not saying which site this was, as many of us would instantly no longer even visit their site. This is the kind of situation that could put them out of business.
Thank you and for putting all this into words. I don't understand why they won't make it right by explaining after all the complaining.
This looks like a drooling bib, but even to small for that . Maybe a bib for a small dog or doll. What site was this? I don't think I will be going there.
The fact that you've gotten other things from this site that worked out well shows that they can create things that are actually well done. I'd certainly contact them again as not everyone uses Facebook (like me) and let them know at the appropriate place for the additional info should be on the website and included as a PDF file when the design is purchased. Additionally, they should give the measurements of it so that people would know before purchasing that the design was the right size. Since they did post more info on Facebook, they already knew there was a problem with it and that really disappoints me.
Thank you. I, too, thought if others have question this, then why wasn't it removed or sizes given with their remedy, at the least.
I'm with Queen of hearts, the first thing I thought was a small pet or a little doll. I would not purchase anything else from someone so misleading/Lillian
Gosh how misleading is that , I would not buy from them ever again
Yes I agree with asterixsew, complain again and tell them that maybe you do not have an account on facebook (like me) and how would you know this then ?
Complain again. If a reputable business has a problem they contact customers not post a message on another site that you may not be a member of. How annoying and frustrating. I think that you have been very polite in not mentioning who they are.
