I think anything monogramed or has a name on it is special to the recipient. Doing all those towels is a lot of work, but the results are fabulous!
Clever girl Kerry, You have done a fantastic job here. Hugs :)
This is the perfect font for towels...thick enough to cover the terry, but not so thick as to be stiff and hard. I always use washaway on the back, but I do wash the towels before giving them. I sometimes use tulle on the top if I think the design will result in a lot of pokies. You do have to tear it away when done. I also use washaway on the top if the design has good underlay and covers the terry well.
thanks for the top tips. I wish I had of use wash a way on the bottom now, but oh well maybe next time...I am sure my daughter will think of something else for me to sew.
I believe she has a jacket from a work mate she has had for 3 mths she tells me to put 3 names on the back.
Very nice - great useful gift. Fantastic job embroidering. :)
Beautiful job. I think embroidering on towels is so very rewarding
They are all beautiful...only you will notice any slight imperfection...sure can't see it from the pictures...
All beautifully embroidered, lovely gifts. No need to stress they are just perfect. Thanks for showing us. Sandra.
Love the elegant font you have chosen, it looks terrific on those towels!
Hugs, Lidia
Thank you Lidia, and I did the kids (blue Ones) different
the Brides children....oh yes they have 2 children, but lovely that they finally did tie the knot so to speak.
WOW! you did a fantastic job! Last time I did towels I used a light tear away on the back. Of course WSS topping on the front. When finished I used the delicate cycle in the washer and extra fluff in dryer. You could not tell they had been washed. Also you could use a blunt wood turner to try and get the wss out if you wanted. I like the Washer.
Thank you, I was apprehensive to wash someone else's towels, hence I never...
They look great. How wonderful of you to make them all. Also, I like the font.
They are wonderful. What a nice contribution you made to their wedding. I think name size on towels is very individual. I can be a bit of an introvert, (though talky) and I like my names small and subtle on towels. The point is not to take over the towel!
thank you I know what you mean, I don't even have towels with my name on any more....
These are just lovely - I don't see any problems!!
many thanks. It was trying even just to get the plastic off the front and I wondered just how much paper backing to get off also...anyone know about the rules/our rules of how much backing is expectable to leave on...I know we don't want to leave much...love Kerry
everyone loves personal things because they are great & so are yours!~hugs~
These are all quite beautiful. I am sure the wedding party recipients were delighted to get them. I know what you mean about going into stress mode. I am always concerned that the person I am making things for will like the item and appreciate my work.
thanks very much..yes we are always judging ourselves to perfection aren't we?
They are stunning.
It is always stressful when you do for others. I think we all go into panic mode just incase something goes wrong.
Job well done.
Yes we just want to do a great job for sure...thanks for your lovely comment.
