Thanks to all Cuties and all they do for the Veterans. Please keep supporting our Veterans however you manage to do it. It means a lot to those whose lives have been changed by their service.
I went today to my US Congressman's open house and heard so many veterans expressing their sad stories dealing with the VA. Veterans are not being treated right and I hope we can fix this system. Kay
Thank You for your support! My husband and I are both Veterans and my son and grandson are both serving now.
My dear husband served in the US Army for 34 years.. retired Ltc.. I am very proud of him...
Yes and may you have good memories today. I will always remember my dad dragging us to the celebration at the National Cemetery in our area even in years when it was boring and "just" WWII veterans and Gold Star Mothers. It was so important to him, but he never did communicate to us what going to the celebration with his children and grands meant to him. He only opened up about WWII AT ALL in the last few years of his life when he realized if he didn't tell, the memories would die with him. He lost his three best friends on one day in one battle at sea. I'm sure he remembered them at many stages in his life, as he married, started his career, had children, graduations, weddings, grandchildren. All the things they missed. So, I think now, those trips to the National Cemetery were a time to honor and remember those three, and then the others.
Wish we could thank your Dad but he is hearing our thanks in Heaven right now.
