Nice job. I also have a brother, it's the se440 and I love it.... I have asked for one with a bigger hoop area, but will not get ride of my 440. I have all brother machines. I have a sewing, embroidery and a serger I love all 3 of them. Keep up the good work. Thanks for sharing. Mechille :)
I hope this one serves me well, Mechille, and I'm glad to hear you are happy with yours, too. Thanks for looking.
I like your prayer quilts . Very well done. The embroidery is very good. I also have a Brother machine and I'm thrilled .
I have just the 2 Brothers, the PE750D that just emb and this one the 425,that sews and emb. My old one was a Brother too. Thanks about the quilts.
A nice thing for you to do. I have a Brother 270SE, and she just chugs along nicely and does great work. I don't even use my Ellegante at top speed. I do like the brother, I use it for piecing and sewing.
Jo
Do you use the 270 at top speed? I did. I was stippling when it froze up on me. I was doing all the pieces for 4 of the crossbody phone bags I make. I was on the last piece too. I stipple better at full speed. Another thing is, I worked at a factory at one time, just seven months. Those commercial machines were full speed ahead. When I came home to my machine, I felt like it was sewing in s-l-o-w motion-lol
It only has one speed-400. I can sew like a demon, straight stitching, but I prefer the embroidery machine to be slower. I think it scares me. Ha.
Very nicely done...looks like your new machine will bring many happy hours to you!
I believe in prayer clothes, prayer anythings. These are great and you're a special person to do this. I have a good friend that does these for the Catholic church she attends with occasional help from another friend. They put pockets on little blankets, the pockets are embroidered and then a prayer booklet and Rosary goes inside also. Their priest blesses them. My daughter, although we are not Catholic, was given one. They are a great comfort to those who believe and possibly to some that are not believers.
Read my response to connerj-they bring great comfort to people, knowing that someone that may not even know them, have ask for God's blessings on them.
They are all very nice - what a great idea your church had in making these. :)
It's the 'Women on Mission" group of ladies. Everybody takes a part. Those that can't do one thing, do another. Some can't sew, so they buy fabric or batting or thread, floss. Those that sew, help put it together and add the floss strings. By the time it gets back to church the quilt is passed around each class, individual, and when you say a prayer for that person, you tie knots in a string. Each string knotted represents a prayer, hence its called a prayer quilt. The quilt has a name tag and reason needs prayers. Its a great mission.
They have turned out beautifully Toogie - well done. Love all of them, love Chris
What a wonderful job you have done, yes the new one embroiders beautifully, though i think it has something to do with the user. Sandra.
