funny you all close your eyes, my method is keep them open with my finger on the start/stop button so if I hear that needle breaking crunch I can turn it off right away. But I've done so many now just slowing the speed on the machine works every time
I am starting to peek now when I make the purses, and I don't hold my breath now either, your right the nack is to slow the machine and go for it, thanks for stopping by, hugs to you. Trish
Looks great. Do you have a box? A big one. You'll need a nice supply made for all that see what you are into.
I am going to have to get a box now, I have the bug for making ITH, zipper purses, Sues Carbage bags, and I found some ITH coasters that is my next attack, thanks for visiting and your comments, hugs to you Trish
The zipper part didn't bother me in the least but after 4 tries I still can not get the lining to come out correctly so I have 4 bags for myself and will give it another go to try to get some Christmas gifts done.
the only problem I had was the zipper, ours in Australia seem to be a smiggins narrower than those in the UK, I made a slight adjustment for the placing of the zipper and WAKO it works, keep trying you will get the nack.... thanks for looking and commenting. Trish
Well done. I still have not been game to try one. Hugs
Oh you must try at least one, its not hard really it isn't, but be warned, you wont stop at one,....... thanks for coming, Trish
Exactly what I did--shut my eyes. Everything went fine. I love your dog camo looking fabric. Job well done!
Shutting my eyes helped me heaps, what I didn't see ,didn't hurt. hehe, everyone needs to do one of these, great confidence builder to try something different, Sue is great to give us the chance. Thanks for stopping by
Good job. I know how you feel. I held my breath while watching the needle go over the zipper. Your purse turned out great.
it is amazing how it goes over, my mum would always tell me watch the zipper when I was sewing in my younger days, I could even hear her when I was doing my first purse , but no problem. Thanks for your comments
You have done a wonderful job. Love the lining with the paws. I still close my eyes when the machine goes over the zipper!!!
A terrific job with Sue's pattern, well done. Thanks for showing us. Sandra.
Well done, now you have taken the plunge you will be unstoppable. I came up with this method of adding a zip for the ladies in my J-club who had never tried anything like it before.
They are great, I have made one to keep my GPS in , when I am not on the road, fits nicely, thanks again. Trish
I did have a little prob with the zip though, ours in Australia must be a smidgins thinner than UK zips, the stitching was stitching on one side right on the edge, but I have managed to sort it by putting the zip in a little earlier than your instructions and it somehow stitches firmer.
Yes I promised Sue that I would have go at them but also scared and I must get myself into gear and buy some zips, so well done to you great work
Just do like I did, shut my eyes and go for it, the first is always the scariest, thanks for stopping by. Trish
