The link below is a company that I have been sent by another UK Cutie who has used them. I am going to get some stuff from there in the new year. Lords at Oswaldtwistle is also good. They are just finishing a sale. I use ebay to buy threads from both used and new. By getting bags of leftover threads from businesses I have got a huge collection of different colours which would have cost a fortune to buy. There is also Somac threads which isn't far from you in the Chester area and I have bought large reels from them. I have Brildor, Isacord, Isafil, Marathon and Madeira threads. I also buy needles in a box of 100 at a time from ebay. Keep asking the questions and we will hopefully provide the answers. I suggest that you read through the Q&A section on Cute. And as Sue says its lovely to have another here from the UK.
Hello & welcome to our cute family. We are happy to have you join us. I can see you have gotten good answers to your choice of threads. I look forward to seeing what you create & hope that you will share your creations in projects with us. ~hugs Loralye~
Hi and Big Welcome to Cute! Congratulations on your new machine..we have a wonderful, helpful, caring and friendly group here and I know you will love it! I suggest you cruise over the to Q & A section (Orange tab up toward the top)...there is lots of great information about the site and how it works...and then...if you haven't already, go to the Terms & Conditions area (scroll down to the very bottom to find the tab) to make sure you understand them...our Moderators work very hard every day to keep us safe and prevent any posts that might violate copyright regulations...Again...Big Welcome!
A very warm welcome to the Cute family and congrats on your new machine. I see you have already gotten some good info on types of thread to use. Cheap thread is not only a waste of money but also does our machines no good. So seek out the good brands and when you find a brand that works well for you, keep using it. I am a firm believer in don't fix what isn't broken. Don't hesitate to ask questions . And please do get a membership here and on the sister site Amazing. The designs are well digitized and fun to use.
Congratulations and welcome to Cute :)
Janome 9900 is a great machine, that is what I had wanted to buy when I finally purchased my mc350e last December :)
Now looking forward to upgrade to mc500e soon!
This is a great community to be a part of to learn a lot and share all your thoughts as well as projects :)
Welcome to Cute. Congrats on the new machine. Have fun stitching.
Hi and welcome to Cute. Depending on where you are in the world will make a difference as to the answers that we give. I am in the UK and buy my threads from a variety of places but I do suggest that you buy quality threads. I had bought some cheap stuff and my dealer said that it shredded too many bits of thread and it wasn't good for my machine. Currently there is a sale on membership here which makes it even better value for money
I've had 3 Janome machines and they have all liked Marathon and Gunold threads.
Don't know if it's available there, but my Janome dealer in USA says to use Robison-Anton rayon thread. It stitches like a charm.
