HELP!! Was trying finish up a baby quilt when I broke a needle (didn't tighten my quilting foot enough) and then dropped the replacement needle into the insides of my Brother Innovis 2800D. I took the cover off to get it with my tweezers and while open dusted out the fuzz. Put everything back and now THIS! (see picture) It pulls the material in a couple of stitches and this is the back of it. I have re-threaded with several different threads and bobbins. Changed the needle again. Taken the bobbin case out and looked for fuzz I may have missed. I can't find anything else to try or what I may have inadvertently done to hurt my machine. I'm just so upset as I have been recovering from surgery and thought I would "relax" for a little. Now I'm just mad at myself for thinking my head was clear enough to sew!

when you get your machine back stop by the fabric store and get one of these, it holds your needle for you and makes it so much easier to push all the way to where it stops, a piece of paper laid over the needle slot also saves a lot of tears. I have 2 and use it for every needle change

I have never seen something like that. Might need to get a couple for my clumsy self.

I have one od those, I thought it came with my machine. But then again, I may have bought it separately.
Great for my sewing machine, but cannot use it for my embroidery machine as I need to remove its foot to use the device. So I do not use it them.
I did a similar thing a few years ago. Nothing wrong with machine when inspected by service man. He thought that I put the foot down while threading the machine - now that will cause that problem too.
good luck

Was able to get my machine in to the shop today. Showed them my mess and they think I may have knocked the timing out when I dropped the needle inside the machine. So hopefully it will cost no more than $150 which is way cheaper than a new machine! And I get it back in a week!

How sweet of you for your words. Unfortunately, it did not happen and my sister is driving me to my dr's appointment and then to the repair place. I just hope it is not too expensive of a fix.

Mine is Innovis 2200 I think, but the bobbin has to be set back just so or I get screeches and thread mess When you reset the bobbin, you may wish to also reload the top thread as the two tensions may be related.. Also, some purchased bobbins have been too tight a tension, so I have resorted to only winding my own. Hope this may help.

Thank you. I will try once again in the morning and see if I missed something simple when I am refreshed.
