they look fantastic. It is my wish to be able to knit my own socks but I am not clever enough!
It is easy enough when you have a good pattern. To most people it is intimidating, After they have done one, they realize that it isn't as hard as one thinks.
I love my Birkenstocks . Knitting socks will be my next project to learn. Thanks for your inspirations.
After all the comments about Birkenstocks I will have to check into them after the holidays. Good luck with the learning of knitted sock. Tell us how you did.
this brings back memories, my mom always knitted the socks for my HB, they lasted longer as the ones I bought. You do a great job, they look great and comfortable, lovely color too. I cannot knit socks, never learned. I can knit but no socks. I'm sure granddaughter will be happy , thankful and very proud of you!
I bet you could knit socks if you set your mind to it and had a good pattern. They are really not as hard as one thinks.
I'm in awe of anyone who can make these, I couldn't even manage booties.
Great socks! I used to knit a lot of funky socks - including those with separate toes like gloves, but always on two needles. I never got the hang of using a set of double ended needles.
Mt patience does not go that far to knit the individual toes. I have to check into the 2 needle system one of these days.
I am in awe of people who can knit and you do it beautifully!
Learned as a child as part of school curriculum. You should have seen the first pair of socks I had knitted. No one could have used them, Ha, ha. Teacher was lucky I did not kill her with my needles.
Funny. I had to do them at school too but it was not even a pair. Textiles were still rationed at that time so we only did the heel and the toe, in (used) cotton on rusty steel needles. Oh the joy of sweaty fingers...
Wow, that's great....great that she wants something made with your sweet hands and great that you can please her.
Beautiful socks. All ages like something hand done. I am making infinity scaves for my granddaughter(11) and step granddaughter(13). They work up fast.
Thank you. There was a time when my children did not care for anything I sewed, knitted etc. I think it was not cool to have handmade items. The tide has turned.
Nice work! The 3-1 pattern not only looks nice it gives some extra stretch where needed.
I love knitting socks, especially with the variegated yarns. And I also very much like the bamboo and wooden needles.
I love Bamboo needles. The little friction really helps. Too bad they do not seem to last or I overuse them.
Now that's the truth. These look great. Had to get my knitting needles out because mine asked for some slippers like I use to knit her.
I think it is great when they ask for something, because then you know you can make them happy.
Beautifully done!!
I will send the adoption forms to you now. Will they be signed before Christmas? ;)
Perfect combination. I rarely wear shoes. I live in my Birks!
Be thankful you can please a 20 year old! They look great!
Very popular in the UK. Saw some beautiful handknitted socks at a craft fair at the weekend
Not so much in California. Europe with the cold winters they are much more desired. I remember from my youth
It is a winning team! :-) many compliments to your knitting.
