My SIL made me a bookcase (I think I'm gonna need another) and I finally started putting my material on comic book boards. Some of it I've had to iron, and am refalling in love with it. Lots more to do, but I think seeing it all at once will make it easier to start something.

Looks amazing well done to you SIL, I was thinking about using the comic book boards for my small amounts of fabric, what size pieces do you use on them..

I think about up to 3 yards or so. Anything more is going to go in a plastic tub. And the smaller pieces are going to be folded and maybe in shoe boxes. ( Not to mention all the snips in the plastic bags!haha)

This has been my plan for a lot of years, so there's always time.

Your 'store' looks so appealing to me! Love the bookcase son-in-law made too, but I really like the piece of furniture next to it. I like old pieces and this is so pretty.
I arranged my fabrics last year, but need to do some tiding up again. I did all gingham's together, all solids, christmas, easter, etc. I like your color coded too. (my wardrobe closet was color coded like that, once upon a time-lol) oh well......

The secretary was my MIL's, so it is quite old. I prefer that over newish things.

Both the bookcase and the nice neat fabric look fabulous. Your SIL di a great job on the bookcase and your work on the fabric makes it so appealing. Feel like a kid in a candy store.

It does make me feel an itch to use some, but not yet.

Compliments to your SIL. She did a great job. So did you ironing and organizing your stash. I have also used the idea of using comic book boards to organize my materials. It is time consuming but looks so good when done. I also made a curtain to protect the material from light.

Great idea. This is in an inner corner so no direct light will hit, but maybe in the future, to keep the dust off.

Ah, you saw Kirk. It's a card my late husband got me years ago, and it still makes me smile.

I love your bookcase. Isn't it wonderful to be able to see your fabric. It is like a work of art.

Simple, but effective, I thought the white would show them off more.

This is fabulous. What a sweet SIL you have there. Now your room will look like a fabric store, and you'll feel like you are on a shopping trip each time you pick out some fabric for a new project. Wish I had such a lovely and well organized fabric stash!!

Looks great, choosing your fabric will be so much easier now that it is all lined up and easy to match. What a great idea. You have a very nice SIL!
