No, it has never happened to me, although it has been a close shave a few times. Love the dragon design.
Love your design! Sorry about the mishap, been there, done that - or something similar.
And done the same stupid thing using my serger when I was new to it. A very slippery shirt which my daughter had bought for a Christmas party and she wanted me to make it a size smaller .. She's never let me forget it.
Hi basketkase, Sorry to hear about the Boo boo, but had to say, what a cool design, so out there, I just love it. Thankyou for sharing.
Regards Lorraine
this has happened to me in all sorts of ways, now I always stitch a run st. square a lot larger than the pattern if possible- around everything thats not in the hoop...wendy
well and truly tested, you might say! I'm sure Jim is okay with it. Yep, I have managed a few duds in my time, and it's very maddening. Merry Christmas Vicki.
Hi, Oh yes I have done it. Yes I did it yesterday but I caught it in time and was able to rip it out without ripping the shirt. Luckily I was able to back up on the design and redo it. Yahoo ! How lucky I was. So sorry you were not so lucky. And a relaxing dinner out helps too. Sincerely, Carol
I confess, I'm guilty have done the very same thing It can be Avery distressful booboo /Lillian
oh ! Vickie this is the season stress kicking in. I went into town two times and forgot both times to go by the bank. The grocery store was a mad house The post office was a mad house. I came home feeling the pressure and I said "Let 's eat Chinese". So we did!!! Kay
Oh Vickie -- you make my lil heart smile. If this can happen to you then I don't feel so bad about the "bloopers" I seem to make all the time. It is a gorgeous design too.
Oh what a bummer. I have done that. At lease you made a save by making it into an applique. Great design.
I have done this had no time to redo late at night needed in the morning
cut it in a square around design and added it in a applique frame
Ah so sorry Vicki but Yes I have done this too, it is a lovely design ~hugs~
Well, I haven't done it to a shirt, but I was doing a blanket for a last min... Christmas present 2 year ago.... and got the end up under the hoop and didn't realize it until I had almost finished the design...... OH...... I cut out the corner and placed a coordinating color of fabric in that corner and another one in the opposite corner.... she never knew.... hehehe..
This design is nice.... whoever gets it will love it. Mechille :)
Haven't done that, but know one of our Aussie Cuties very well who did something like this! he he he! She knows who she is. This still looks fabulous. Love Chris
I think WE all have gone through a period problem like you have..has happened to me a few times!!!!Only learn that way..But Great work done..Stunning design!!!
I love the design.
I've done the same thing. One of my first projects was to embroider kids aprons for playgroup. The first apron I did, I didn't think to tie the neck loop out of the way and I stitched right over the thick tie that went over the head and around the neck. I kept it hanging in my sewing room for years just to remind me to check to see if anything was in the way.
My latest mess happened when I was stitching the first of six expensive bath sheet with her kids names on them. I did some about 5 years ago and she really felt having their names on them kept them from sharing germs. I was stitching at the top of the towel so there was a lot of extra towel to keep out of the way. I put the rest of the towel over the top of my machine when I checked the hoop was okay. When I pulled it back I had caught a lot of loops from the towel on the things on the top of the machine. It ruined the towel, so I started over and while trying not to do the same thing again, I rolled the rest of the towel up and placed it on the machine cabinet. I had split the names because I can only 5x7" at a time. I'm still not sure how I did it, but that kept the embroidery unit from moving like it should, so when I did the second half of the name it was 3 inches lower than the first part. At that point, I gave up and told my friend I couldn't do the towels.
I love hearing everyone's stories........only another embroiderer could "get it".....
Tell me..... it's nice to know others have trouble and booboo also.... not just me. :)
Beautiful design - I three shirts get something embroidered into the design this past weekend - were shirts that cost $12.00 each and were almost finished. I had to stop and start the next day. Everything went nicely after that. This hasn't happened to me in such a long time I guess I was over due. lol :)
Love the design. Fire within is a appropriate name.
I have done exactly that you did and mostly when I try to be economical and have a long piece,so I do not waste any due to hooping. It does defeat the purpose. Ha, ha
Love you new design and feel you pain...you are in much company I believe...
I love the design!
As for the stitching error... Me -- I have done it. It happened for me because I had to remove the project from the machine... I am very careful now. But I imagine it could happen again
Sadly, I have no excuse......the dang thing got underneath during stitching.........
