In the Pfaff/Husqvarna software you can view your designs on a chosen background, inbuilt as well as scans of your own. It is not the only one, more (expensive) software program have the option, although I do not know which ones. And the paid version of Wilcom truesizer ($49 at the moment) offers the same option.
But Embird does not. You can use the scan and import it as image in Studio, and import an existing (eof)file on top- in a round-about way: digitise a simple line, then merge the file and delete the line. But that's as far as it goes. You could not add a clipart image to digitise that, it would replace the first one.
You could do what Kim says below in Studio, but not in Editor.(Unless someone knows different!)
Forgot to put in pictures on the other post. First one is straight from the machine. Second is tracing paper print out.
Ok well I printed it out on A4 Tracing paper not a huge success can't see through it well enough. As I have a lot of this fabric and am just making this for myself I thought what the heck go for it.
This is what I have done so far. Still have to tidy up jump stitches between the words and check why the lady has a small gap line running across her back.
These were 2 designs that I increased to 175% and put together. Designs from Goodies by Gail
Wish I could help you with Embird...I can scan the fabric and then import the .Jpeg or .bmp file and then import a design or digitize a design...I am sure there must be a similar function with Embird...save the scan as an image...import the image and then merge a design or digitize one if you have Studio...perhaps Martine will come and rescue me from myself!
Thanks dragonflyer for the tips will give it a go when I have time and peace and quiet. Meaning no interruptions.
