Looks perfectly normal to me! Gorgeous selection! Just call it the palette you NEED to create your artwork! An artist wouldn't use just one tube of paint, now would she? Hugs and happy stitching!
Perfectly normal - a collector & connoisseur of great fabrics - just like a connoisseur of fine china or fine wines, only better because yours is a collection with a creative purpose, not just for the sake of possession or consumption. Your stash is amazing and so is your sewing room - enjoy!
Ah a ''connoisseur', sounds much better than a ''hoarder'' lol.
I LOVE my new sewing room and once it is complete, I will be over the moon,
I can come and help you put them away, we'd be a great pair wouldn't we? I love the idea of the cubby holes in the 4th picture. I've got a wall cupboard with only 16 and my fabric is in plastic see through holey baskets. You have so much beautiful fabric to play with too Michelle. Have fun with all of it and don't over do it too much. Good luck with all those orders. Love Chris
Oh that would be wonderful Chris. Finished sorting and placing my cottons yesterday, still have cubby holes to fill which is great. I still have a closet full of boxes so I need to complete those. Lots of projects piling up in my head as I sort through these.
Start back to embroidering tomorrow,
hugs
Michelle
yes you are very normal i love your stash
:):) lol hugs
Your stash is better than any of our material shops. :)
A very happy new year to you and happy sewing
Based on the pictures, I guess your normal. You are sorted in color and type families, everything is folded into similar sizes, and most of your cubbies are empty waiting to be filled. I even recognize some of the fabric. It all seems normal to me. Have fun and enjoy your fabric. It is cheaper than a psychiatrist.
Cheaper and you don't need to make an appointment lol.
I have 40 cubbies to hold all these once I finish sorting so it will look all pretty.
Completely Normal, my what a stash. Suppose if any of us put out all of our stash to sort , like you we would have a fair amount. I see a busy year ahead for you lots of pretty projects in this lot. Happy sewing and embroidering. Sandra.
Yes I predict a busy year, already have lots of orders to fill in the coming weeks and lots of new projects to work on.
Looks like we all have the same trouble can't help buying more when we see something nice. Yes you are just NORMAL Plenty to choice from that is what I like I tell my husband you never know what you will want when you go to do something Val
I no longer buy too much as it is too expensive around here. I have been going to the states over the last 2 years to stock up but now with our dollar being so low I guess this year that will not be an option and I will have to lower my stash as it is.
WOW! Can I come and play in your sandbox?
Anytime, I was thinking yesterday how fun it would be to have a fabric ''swap'' as I am sure there are fabrics out there that could use a new home.
I am amazed at how different the selections of fabric are when you travel out of your home area. Sometimes what is available at home becomes ho-hum because it is always dependent on the likes of the person who does the ordering. We have just finished a major reno in my sewing room and I love the organization (hope it stays that way!). The room was completely emptied and NOTHING went back in unless it had a place to go to. Love to see some of your projects. Be blessed, Avis
Normal or "Abby" Normal (Young Doctor Frankenstein) why split hairs. We are not hoarders we are heroes! Look at all of the fabric we have rescued from those cold sterile fabric stores where no one comes along and pets them.
I can assure you that you are completely and absolutely normal. But then having moved several times with a room similar to yours, I, of course, would think it is normal. Take your time to set up your room. I always unpacked the essentials first and moved onto the rest. I always wanted my room up and running ASAP. Floor to ceiling shelves are essential as well as using the center of room. Have fun
That is why I waited to do it after my shows and Christmas rush. I want to make it as functional as possible. I have a 4 by 8 foot cutting table in the center and I LOVE it.
wow! - complete with such a great table - you must feel like you have a little piece of heaven here on earth - hope you continue to enjoy it all for many years to come
I agree with Rescuer totally!!! Those pictures make me jealous!! I too have to completely redo my small craft room. I can hardly step into it!!!
The best thing about reorganizing is that you find fabrics you forgot you had and then the ideas start coming faster than you can make them.
You are totally OK. I don't think any of us are "normal" but then most of us have a "little" something set aside to do in the event we are stuck at home with no trips to a fabric store in sight.
You are right, there are fewer and fewer stores around here to purchase from so I just need to buy when I see them.
